So between two fights that are going to end in domination for Floyd, you would rather see a re-run (even though the first fight wasn't even close) than a new cat, who might be able to bring something new to the dance?
I just don't see the need for rematches when the first fight is so one-sided.
Like I said, for me it doesn't matter because I genuinely believe that no matter who is put up against Floyd (within reason) will lose. I also believe that the only kind of true excitement Floyd can have in the ring is when he's really beating up on his opponent, as that will be the only action he'll allow. So it's what fighter's fanbase do I dislike the most and want to see sad.
That answer is Hatton/Margarito to me. Although Collaza/PBF would probably be a decently entertaining 'bout, as Collazo is a solid boxerpuncher and would be open to getting hit enough to make an ok fight; nor does he have too much power to make Floyd avoid fighting too much.
The outcome would be the same..a vicoius beating for Floyds opponent.
I merely speak the truth. The man is a douchebag, as is anybody who flashes their cash in such retarded ways.
You crazy. Mosley absolutely dominated Collazo (an ok fighter) and Floyd would just do the same.

I think the quote was...
"I'm not saying Floyd isn't a douchebag (he is) or that he shouldn't shut his mouth (he should), but there is no denying his greatness in the ring."
I thought it was pretty funny.

By the way, I would MUCH rather have Mayweather vs. Collazo than Mayweather vs. Hatton II. MUCH rather.

So YOU wouldnt rematch for some insane money in an a winnable fight??
thats a trick question. cause there is no right answer. It depends on what are a persons individual goals.
Roy Jones was getting 5 mill a fight from HBO for fighting B level opponents. on one hand he is smart for making that easy money....but on the other hand his Legacy would be far far greater if he fought some big names, and he looked like he is ducking a lot of fighters......it makes people say, if he was soo great than why did he not fight anyone?
Which one would you choose?
if you choose the money. Can you really say you are the best?
I cant knock a man for chasing the green...I really cant...
Id still be a fan.......he could fight Collazo next and Ill be a fan..I really dont give a shyt I just want to see the best boxer of our generation FIGHT...I want to be able to tell my kids and grand kids that I seen the best boxer of my time FIGHT.
Good enough for me.
people were saying that for jones....but now what are they saying? that he fought nobodys except for Toney and Hopkins.
I want to see the best fight the best. So i can say to my grandkids i saw a Great boxer without a doubt.
If floyd rematched Hatton(after fighting de la hoya), than fought 2 top 5 welterweights...i would not argue with it at all.
But Floyd is saying he wants to retire after a couple more fights...if he fought de la hoya than hatton and retired....bypassing Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Williams, Quintana.
than in many people eyes he would be a coward.
i would only say he was really good, with questions on if he could have beat the fighters he ducked...
I voted Margarito. It's time to clear the air and stop all the speculation.
That would be my choice, assuming that Cotto hadn't already convincingly beaten him.
I don't dislike Floyd much. I think he's a douchebag, but I recognize how ridiculously good at boxing he is. I'd like to think I'm witnessing greatness in the ring; so for him to continue to beat opponents the icing on the cake is him beating opponents w/ fan bases who I can't stand (Hatton and Marg).

You dislike Floyd quite a bit don't you? I think I remember something that made me think so.

When Floyd beats Cotto he should retire or go after big Money fights. If Paul Williams becomes a top contender again I would like to see them fight. I'll be happy enough if Floyd just beats Cotto.
Manny Pacqauio & Floyd won't happen it'll be a sparringsession/tune-up fight Floyd!!! Floyd will be bigger,Faster, and SUPER STRONGER. Manny Pacqauio couldn't get to Floyd's weight plus, Floyd's SKILL LEVEL IS WAY HIGHER.
Manny Pacqauio won't ever think of a bout with Floyd.
I guess it's just a different perspective. I don't see any viable fights that PBF actually loses... so I suppose what I want to see is more of a question of what fighter I want to see lose to PBF more.... and out of viable options the top is Hatton and then Margarito. I kinda' like Cotto so I don't really want to see him lose to PBF, but it'd be a big fight so I'd be fine with that too.

Do you people understand how fukking vicious was at 140...I dont think Hatton does if he wants that fight at 140.
Speed, power,...Floyd was a monster at 140( albeit not the best comp at the weight) but still...
Cotto looked vicious against Gomez.
Hatton looked vicious against Castillo.
It all depends on the quality of the competition. Floyd is not as good at 140 as his fights show he is. It's a toss up between Corley and Gatti as to who his best competition was... that is some bad shit right there. Of course he was going to look unbeatable.
Nope.
I can't imagine that Floyd boiling (:lol1:) down to 140 would hurt him in any way.
Seriously... moving down in weight hurts fighters if they are big in their current weight class. I just can't think of a way that it would fuck Floyd up, at all.
While Hatton may not have been at his best with the extra weight, he looked very frustrated by his very limited offensive output. That's my opinion. Most of the fight was won mentally by Mayweather when Hatton saw that hitting Floyd wasn't going to be easy, at all.

LOL @ the Bonsu comment... I'd personally like to see him fight Oba Carr. Haha...
My question should have been phrased: Who thinks he will fight Cotto after Oscar? And who thinks he will fight another guy (namely Hatton) after Oscar?
I'd rather him fight Jackson Bonsu than Hatton.
He wiped Hatton out... it wasn't even close.
Assuming the fight were at 140 you wouldn't want to see a rematch?
That picture you paint is almost too good to be true. He would win me back just by signing his last fight with Cotto, honestly.
Question: Who in here is pretty confident that Mayweather will fight Cotto? Hatton?
im more confident that he will fight Hatton than fight Cotto. I made a thread about 4 months ago before the word "rematch" even was in discussion about how it was more likely that Floyd would rematch Hatton than fight Cotto.

I wont say I'm confident in either of those options; but I'm confident he'll fight one of them.
i actually kinda hoping Floyd's last fight is at an outdoor arena/stadium. something BIG with a lot of pageantry to signify the end of an era. ima sucker for a show.
