Can Floyd Mayweather Jr. TKO De la Hoya?

Gloves? At 147, Floyd is NOT wearing anything less than 10oz's. He has to protect his brittle hands. Serious question that I hope would get a serious answer and not something confrontational but I am asking this with all due respect. Why do you post about Floyd so much, if you don't like him that is.

After I saw the De la Hoya/Forbes fight, I thought that Mayweather, being a much superior fighter than Forbes, who will also cheat if he wants/needs (debatable), could score a TKO by referee stoppage over De la Hoya in their rematch. Do you agree? I think getting down to 147 will be hard enough on DLH's body that Floyd could conceivably tKO DLH, but I don't see that happening.

CAN and WILL, are two different things I think floyd can knock anyone out if he wanted to go in their all out style... its just not his style though... too much risk to start winging punches... his punches are fast and accurate enough, along with his stamina to really f*ck up anyone... but its justn ot what he does... Totally agree. I don't think that Floyd commits enough to ever have enough one-punch power to KO a guy like Oscar, and Oscar is too seasoned to absorb enough damaging blows to get stopped or even seriously hurt by Floyd.

i think he can stop him on cuts. but he will never knock out de la hoya and if anyone wants to make an all points bet, get at me.

If you think Mayweather can KO/TKO De La Hoya when nobody but Hopkins has been able to accomplish this you are crazy.. (I might also add that in the Hopkins fight where he was greatly over sized many seem to think he gave up.) Right on that's pretty much what I was going to say. It took a fight against a much larger elite level boxer to get de la hoya on the canvas so to me the floyd knockout isn't very likely. Besides the hatton fight I don't think he has too many ko's at 147.

he definitely has the tool, but i'm not sure if he's going to be that aggressive to pull it off. It kinda depends which mayweather shows up... the older aggressive boxer or the defensive mastermind who is content on winning on points.

It's possible for Mayweather to KO DLH. He did stagger him I believe off a right uppercut counter punch when DLH had him on the ropes and was carelessly flurrying. If Mayweather does choose to be a bit more offensive this time around it's very possible. He caught DLH with that uppercut a few times and that could be huge in the next fight. In all likely hood thought, I see him wearing DLH by attrition to get the TKO before an actual knockout, but even more than likely that would be another decision.

From what i saw against steve Forbes i think he could as oscar de la hoya was getting hit way to much and mayweather is much better than forbes is.

He can, time will tell if he will though. He said in an interview "Why would I knock him out for thirty when I could beat him for thirty and then knock him out for 60" Don't know how much of that I believe though.
