This from konetwork:
WBC heavyweight titlist Sam Peter was supposed to get his crack at Vitali Klitschko once his got rid of Oleg Maskaev in March in Cancun. He has waited and waited for Klitschko to meet him in the ring and it looks like he might have to wait some more.
All indications are that Peter (30-1, 23) will instead take an optional defense of his title sometime this summer before meeting up Klitschko later this year.
The names being thrown around in the rumor mill are Travis Walker, the hulking Floridian with an impressive record of 27-1-1 (21), and former world heavyweight title challenger Andrew Golota.
Walker’s name has been in the mix for a while and Golota’s recently was thrown around by ESPN.com.
Klitschko hasn’t fought since 2004 when he stopped Danny Williams. He retired from boxing because of a rash of injuries but has been trying to come back for over a year.
Injuries have kept him from restarting his career and now a run for Mayor of Kiev, his hometown, is slowing things down.
I have a great idea for an opponent for Sam Peter...No, not Tye Fields, but what about Sultan Ibragimov? Peter could make a huge statement by ko'ing Sultan Ibragimov when his fellow rival Wladimir Klitschko could not...
But, as we all know, the best case scenarios rarely play out with King fighters...
That would be an intriguing matchup, I think Ibragimov would outbox Peter and win a Decision, I can't see Peter stopping Ibragimov, Sultan is a very defensive fighter now and he has a good chin, he's a tough man to stop.

Golota is too old now and his handspeed has really diminished, Peter would probably take him out in the mid rounds, Golota still has a punchers chance though....I think Prime Golota beats Peter.
I agree with you there. Golota is not the fighter he once was, and if he hadn't pulled the crap he did in the Bowe fights, he would be looked upon as one of the best Heavyweights in history. Golotas failure to handle pressure, has led to some embrassing defeats, but it's hard to stay motivated when the wins you do earn aren't given to you.
That's an obviously uneducated statement. Golota destroyed Riddick Bowe on two separate occasions but was disqualifed, was screwed out of a victory of both Byrd and Ruiz. The only blemishes Golota has is his 1st round knockout at the hands of Lamon Brewster, and of his quitting against Tyson. Counting Golota out of a fight against Peter is just wrong. If he trains seriously and comes prepared to fight, he could seriously hurt Peter early, and beat him.

Golota gimmie a break. How many title shots would that be for him?? Peter stops him in 8 in a very ugly but interesting matchup.

It might be entertaining while it lasts but will Golota quit early?
I think Peter vs Golota would end in disqualification...Peter would rabbit punch Golota in the back of the head and Golota would retaliate with a low blow combination to the balls...Peter and Golota are both nutcases, it would be an entertaing fight while it lasts.
Yup, after all the letdowns and disappointments in his career Golota is still a draw with the fans...Win or lose, Golota is never in a dull fight, he is entertaining and unpredictable...I say give the guy one last shot.

Golota brings fans in too. This fight could end up in Chicago...

Surely they could find more deserving challengers. But not many with the box-office appeal of Golota.
I predicted Golota would get a title shot at Peter right after he beat Mike Mollo, it makes sense because they're both Don King fighters and Golota keeps getting title shots.

It might be the all-time dirtiest HW-title-fight. Lowblows from Golota and rabbit-punching from Peter.
After such a fight Peter's nuts will be the size of record-breaking pumpkins and Golota wont be able to spell his own name.
