He dominated Forbes, won 11-12 rounds in everyone's eyes and yet people still spout shit about his performance.
Is he top ten pound for pound? no.
Did he have a clearly dominant and clinical performance? yes.
Will Floyd boys continue to reveal their boxing ignorance by down talking Oscar's performance? Most definitely yes.
The thing that bothers me was how many times Oscar was caught flush when
forbes threw combo's Nearly everytime Forbes threw Combos they landed 2 or 3 shots as well..
Floyd will dismantle him like that....
Oscar's reflexes looked a bit shot..
I see it like this. If the Floydboyz are claiming that Oscar looked bad, then that should be even more reason to NOT want to see Floyd/Oscar II. I personally wouldnt say that he looked "bad", but by the looks of it, if he fought Floyd the way he fought Forbes, a loss is inevitable.
I'm not Floyd's fan, but Oscar looked terrible in his last fight....Yes he won almost all rounds but looked slow and didn't impresed me at all....it looks like a sparing not a fight....Against Floyd Oscar will not have a chance, IMO Floyd by Ko in 9
by the way, OF COURSE HE WILL BE BETTER PREPARED FOR THE REMATCH BECAUSE HE ALREADY GOT A TASTE OF WHAT HE CAN EXPECT!!!
will he be able to execute? mostly likely noooooo.
Yeah but he got the Predator in his corner this time - (why did he shave his locks - thought it was damn intimidating :)))
I think he feel away a bit like he has done in the past towards the end, perhaps he didnt think or plan for it too go that far.
It was an ok performance but i think he only troubled forbes once. Which for a 1/66 odds on favoruite is a little worrying.
Oscar looked pretty average. Very unimpressive. Geezus, he was fighting a lightweight. Not much more needs to be said. Some of you need to turn down the volume and watch the fight again.
All this time and no one has yet to mention that the majority of the damage on Oscar's face came within the first few rounds. After that from the middle rounds on, his defense was actually pretty decent. I'm sure being off a year throw's off your timing on defense too.
But people are so infatuated with a KO that because it didn't happen Oscar was shit. He did what he needed to do. He jabbed, he boxed on his toes, he displayed a good chin, had good stamina, and showed that his hand speed is still exceptional.
It wasn't a boxing masterpiece by any means but he won 10-11 rounds easy. There's no question about that.
Look I know your going to say anything and everything to not give credit when its due, did we know Forbes was smaller? yes we all knew that! did we think Oscar was in a tough fight? we knew he would win but like I said too many people like you expected a knock out and anything short of that he would be wide open for haters like you to critisize him.
Look true be as it may, Oscar is going to rematch Floyd so we dont have to sit here and play pitty pat and discuss who we think will win, you say Floyd okay fine you beleive that, I on the other hand still dont know, Oscar has to take off another 3 pounds for that fight to happen.
one thing is for sure the old timers would say, win this fight and look sensational in the next if Oscar does win the next fight everybody will owe him. including you!
being that you claim to have boxed before I would be led to beleive you would credit a fighter were its due, apparently you didnt box very long.
Oscar himself said he was going to knock out forbes. So did floyd sr. After the fight Oscar looked embarrassed and admitted he was dissapointed he wasn't able to knock him out. Why are you still defending his performance. Oscar himself was dissapointted with it so was floyd sr. But in your eyes(being a oscar fan) to you he looked great but in reality he didn't and didnt do what he should have done, what he said he was going to do, and what a better fighter would have done and thats stop forbes. NO EXCUSE.
This was a tune up fight against a fucken jr lightweight. You are giving oscar WAAAAAAAAY to much credit. You are trying your hardest to defend oscar but reality is he's shit, he's old, he did not look good, he got hit alot, and no way in hell is going to win a rematch with floyd

Like I said, Oscar said his hand was injured in the 4th round, and this isnt new to Floyd supporters they know all about Hand injuries by now beleive that. but still hand fucked up and all he still won 12 rounds, I didnt even score one round for Forbes to be honest with you.
Somehow winning all 12 rounds just isnt good enough for Floyd boys anymore, how is it, that Floyd can dominate 12 rounds against a lesser opponent such as Sosa or Corley and you all call it a perfect performance, yet Oscar does the same against a former world champion and he looks like shit.
Sorry but I aint buying into this game, the hate is clear we know no matter what you will never give De La Hoya credit, even if he should clearly beat Floyd and knock him out you will all still be in denial.

The people saying this aren't familiar with Forbes. Simple. Period.
Steve Forbes was going to do exactly what he did. The fight played out exactly the way I thought it would. Steve Forbes is no fucking punk.
i think the fight was excellent considering oscars gameplan was a total reconstruction of his former self. for the first time in his career he did'nt get tired after the 6-7th round. it was obvious he just lost weight and did'nt train too much. but now he knows this type of gameplan works, he can sharpen his skills and train his ass off like he did with the first fight against floyd. i'm hopeing for a good buildup, and i may buy the rematch, not sure, gotta check how it plays out.

Deevel and Wlad owns said that? Damn those Floyd boys

Floyd groupies should be saying Oscar looked good, making Floyd's probable win in September look better.
Oscar looked alright.
Well Oscar has been critisized many times for falling asleep in the later rounds. I also think that Floyd Sr. was not happy with his performance last night.

He actually didnt really jab that much, early yeah but not each round, infact he would basicly pressure Floyd to the ropes even with out the jab and then he would look for big shots, that isnt how you beat Floyd you have to remember he is saftey first so rather than just to look for the big shots he may as well score points as well.
I think Oscar feel asleep in there with Floyd not intentionally I really think that he just got bored with the pace of the fight and Floyd stepped it up in the late rounds, not saying that he didnt get tired I am just saying that Oscar lost focus in the last third of the fight with Floyd.
Last night I am saying he didnt go for the kill because he needed to know for sure if he can fight 12 at this weight, mentally Oscar has to know this before going in with Mayweather at 147, if he cant do it at 150 why bother at 147 well he did it at 150 so lets see.

I thought the fight was extremely boring and unimpressive. Forbes didn't look like he was even trying to win, he spent half the fight dancing around playing to the crowd and blocking partially landed flurries.
DLH proved that he can beat a guy who fought on a tv show with a weight disadvantage and a lack of offense.
I know earlier in his career he was an exciting great fighter but most of my opinion is maybe clouded by dreaded prospect of a dlh - mayweather rematch.
I don't think the first fight should have even been a split decision (and no I am not a Floyd boy). I don't think anyone wants to see DLH anymore besides DLH's wallet and Mayweather's heart.
I think if he were to pick Malignaggi for his 'warm up' fight, last night would have been a lot different...
by the way, OF COURSE HE WILL BE BETTER PREPARED FOR THE REMATCH BECAUSE HE ALREADY GOT A TASTE OF WHAT HE CAN EXPECT!!!

You're taking "looking good" for face value.
Did he win...YES!
Let me explain
Marg looked good against Cintron, Cotto looked good against Gomez, Floyd looked good against Hatton. Oscar looked good against Vargas.
This is not an A performance. He gets a C

Wow, has anyone even read the first post?
Was he fighting someone below his standard? YES
Did he look good? YES
