Hatton has faster feet and is quicker to the punch, he's far and away the harder puncher, throws far more leather and is more of a mobile fighter than certainly De La Hoya and definitely Forbes. Chin won't be a factor, Hatton is unlikely to stop Forbes and Forbes doesn't have the power or the killer instinct to finish Hatton, so it comes down to who lands more and harder shots. Against De La Hoya Forbes spent a long time not actually throwing punches, Hatton wins a decision as wide as the one Oscar won I reckon, but I do like Stevie Forbes.
How can you even seriously say that Hatton has faster hands? Forbes has INCREDIBLY quick hands. Hatton has decent speed, especially for a brawler. But compared to Forbes, who was being compares to MAYWEAHTER in terms of speed, he pales. The feet argument, you can make, but I will say that Forbes has much better footwork in general. Although Hatton could win, and I'm stating that it's very possible, the problem I see with your idea of him not throwing punches is that De La Hoya is a bigger man than Hatton. Normally, Forbes throws a lot more punches, and even MORE combinations. He wouldn't be hurt by Hatton, and he'd have a chance of landing more punches, as De La Hoya has a better defense than Hatton does (in my opinion).
It could go either way, I just see it being a closer fight than most on here.
Forbes is a faster fighter than Hatton with both hands and feet. Atleast the same defensively (although I think Forbes' defense is better, to be honest). Not to mention that Forbes is a bit more natural at 140 and has the better chin, regardless. It's not that clear-cut if you ask me.

Are some of you guys actually serious?
Hatton lost to the best fighter in the world. That doesn't suddenly make him a bum. Hatton would easily outclass Forbes if they ever fought (and they never will).
Hatton by wide UD.

Some people heregive Forbes to much credit, he is at best a C level fighter. He has absolutely zero chance with Hatton, Hatton would just run over him. Forbes would cover up, run for his life and hold on just to get to the 12 round.
dlh would have koed hatton at 147.................forbes went all 12 babyy!!
I think DLH wanted 12 rounds under his belt against Forbes. I didnt see Oscar really loading up on punches as much as he could. To me it looked like he carried him a bit. Forbes is tough but so are a lot of other guys. Mayweather had the style to beat Hatton, Forbes would have to throw back punch for punch and I dont se ehim outworking Hatton over 12 rounds or having the accuracy to land clean powerful shots to KO him.
Im going with Forbes.....a slick boxer will always give abrawler like Hatton touble...
Collazo and Floyd beat him.
Fact is Hatton beat Collazo weather you like to admit it or not. Tho it was close!:boxing: :boxing:
Well as stated, Forbes cant hurt Hatton, but Hatton cant hurt Forbes either imo. If Oscar De La Hoya couldn't KO him then Hatton cant and Oscar is a much bigger puncher.
I honestly dunno, i think Hatton would pull out a UD by wearing him down to the body and so slowing him down some.
I dont know which fight you were watching but Hatton was a punchbag in that fight.
Forbes will win this fight because Forbes is not just a defensive fighter he throws a lot more punches than Floyd.
I don't know which fight you were watching but Hatton was landing on Floyd, and if he can land on Floyd he can land on Forbes at a higher rate. Hatton was only a punchbag from round 7, the first six he was landing frequently and the fight was competitive despite the best efforts of Cortez.

It would be a close fight which would end in a controversy win for Hatton by UD, Hatton doesnt have enough power to really stop a guy like Forbes who has a very good defence. I could see Forbes having some success but hatton forcing the issue to take it.
i think hatton would give mayweather a really good fight and light welterweight if there was a different ref too, everyone knows hatton isnt a welterweight, he struggled vs collazo, was no way in hell he was gona beat mayweather at that weight
