The more I think about it after reading some decent posts on BS the more I see Marg winning the fight. Hearns-Duran keeps popping up when I ask myself how this fight will unfold. I think Hearns had the perfect style and physical attributes to go along with that style that was needed to beat Duran. I'm leaning towards the same here. I think Marg has the perfect style and physical attributes to go along with it. I look at it this way. If Cotto beats Marg in my book thats it he's the Real Deal. I think Judah was dipping his toe in the Elite waters. Mosley was him jumping headfirst in the Elite waters. (Hopkins came up with that) I think Marg will be his final test. But I'm doubting now if Cotto can pull it off. Bob Arum and Top Rank must think he can win cause I see no reason why they would endanger their star while seeing fights with DLH and Mayweather in the future. At the end of the day I think Marg will just be too big and strong and throw too many punches and be too tough and will walk Cotto down. At the time that the fight was made between Cotto and Margarito neither Mayweather nor De La Hoya were on the table and there was no indication they ever would be. That aside, if Margarito takes down Cotto it will boost Antonio Margarito's stock many times over for the rest of his career. All they need is a signature win to go along with the overblown reputation. Who else is Margarito going to beat, or get chance to beat, at marquis level? It just all depends on how truly confident Arum is in Cotto's ability to remain undefeated and possibly beat a Floyd or Oscar. Based on the way they matched Cotto during the bulk of his career their faith was not undying for an extended period. I'll assume that they have the same realistic view of their fighter Cotto's limitations now, still, to some degree, and believe that it's possible he can be beaten. Better they keep it in the Top Rank family, is what they might be thinking.

Cotto likes to set the pace of a fight and someone that is coming non stop like Margarita will be a problem. One thing that stops someone from throwing so many punches is pain. If Margarita gets hit hard coming in a few times this may change how he fights Cotto.

Oh and BTW, I never really hated Margarito. I just hated his fans acting like he was invincible or most feared fighter. I'm just happy if this fight finally gets signed and we can see who really is the best. I love watching Cotto fight and I'm a big fan of him as I am Pacquiao, but I don't make either out to be invinicible. I've watched them long enough to know their strengths and weakenesses. how is margarito's power stronger than cotto any way to prove this? He's done some devastating first rd KOs to above decent competition. Whether it be from a bodyshot or headshots. Cotto's power has been the accumulative type. If Margarito doesn't KO you initially from his power punching, he'll wear you out fast.
