I dont think anyone ever questioned his talent just his ability to thrill, or lack there of.
Dude put on a disgraceful performance from an entertainment standpoint. He deserves criticism for that.
u can apologize now
I didnt know the forums were deep with Dirrell haters, I know his last fight out he looked like shit, but that happens to everybody hell Mayweather vs Baldimor is a perfect example.
Last night My fucking God, Honestly the first two rounds I thought we had us a good fight, but you know what? Dirrell gave Hanshaw a false sense of security,he allowed him to get comfortable and he allowed him to think he was going to walk through Dirrell.
by the time Dirrell had Hanshaw where he wanted him to be and needed him to be it was too late, the damage had been done.
I was dissapointed in Dirrell's last fight as he seemed he didn't want to engage, but last night he engaged a lot more. He showed really quick hands that had some pop on them. Next time i'll be looking forward to watching him fight again.
I've been watching Andre Dirrell since he was an amateur. He fought the same way he's always fought. The only difference between this fight and the Stevens fight was that he was able to catch Hanshaw in this fight.
Andre Dirrell will always be the same. He uses his reach, speed and ring intelligence to try to trap his opponent. If he can't trap his opponent, he'll outbox them. If he can lay the trap and catch them then he'll knock them out.
Anyone who thinks their criticism led to Dirrell putting on the more exciting performance probably needs to check his ego at the door.
Dirrell admitted on television that he didn't give a good showing in the Stevens fight. Did he check his ego at the door? Steven is slow and plodding, and Dirrell fought like he was frightened of getting hit. Dirrell never caught him because he fought safety first. It was obvious he fought with much more fire against Hanshaw. He redeemed himself somewhat in this fight, but he still has work to do.

easy there guy, the stevens fight was a stinker and he was called out on it, the same way a lot of fighters get called out on their stink performances, it's usually and mostly in part to the fact that when they had a stinkfest of a fight, they were in a position to make the fight exciting, but didn't. hence the criticism. it goes a part with his job as being professional, criticism. now, stevens pressured direll and hanshaw pressured direll, completely different outcomes, total opposites of the spectrum. was it because direll was the same old him? or did he open up a bit more and take advantages where he saw he could? i lean more towards the second. i think in order for him to have a successful career he needs to get that fight with stevens out of peoples minds, and not have another like it. this win was the first step towards that.
the ego stays.................
i will say that he made up for that stevens fight, but no way in hell would i take back what i said or how i felt, his fight with stevens deserved every bit of criticism, and you know what, like a professional, he learned from that mistake and didn't make the same mistake, so full credit given there to direll.
all he's gotta do is keep it up and don't have any more of those mega stinkers again, because that fight was enough to keep someone off the air for good. luckily for him he was able to bounce back...........

If I recall correctly, myself and John Scully where the only people that didn't hate on Dirrell.
Its funny how people come out praising him now that he put on a good show.
Maybe on this board, but Dirrell has some fans. I've written articles calling out his haters on a less busy site and I've paid to see him live twice. He's a bronze medalist. He has fans.
On a side note, I've gotten myself banned asking Diva Dan Rafael about Dirrell in his chats. I'm planning on getting myself banned again next Friday. LMFAO.

He stunk out the house that night. But boxing is all about redemption and Dirrell took a big step forward against Hanshaw.

I never hated on Dirrell....:dunno:
Who cares? The man put on an impressive performance tonight. Hats off to him...
Who the fuck is Hanshaw? Some guy who had a close loss to roy jones jr... This dumb, roys slow as fuck now adays. I'm not impressed at all, Hanshaw showed so many flaws in his fight against roy thats not even funny :boxing:
Curtis Stevens would have easily ko'd Direll if direll didn't make a borefest and runa round the ring like a coward
stevens allowed dirrell to get the easy victory.. hanshaw was better at cuttin off the ring and forced dirrell to come out of his comfort zone and fight the guy.. I give Dirrell props.
