No, no it doesn't.
The term "Pound for Pound" was invented when a discussion arose about Sugar Ray Robinson's chances as a Heavyweight.
"How would he fare at heavyweight".
Then why is it not called "How would he fare at heavyweight"?
The term Pound for Pound would suggest you are looking for the BEST boxer pound for pound!
It's not hard mate, anyone can be on the list regardless of weight, we're looking for the skills/styles.
You weightist, lol.
1. Money
2. Bernard Hopkins
3. Manny Pacquiao
4. Joe Calzaghe (I guess)
5. Israel Vazquez
6. Miguel Cotto
7. Juan Manuel Marquez (whatever)
8. Paul Williams
9. Jermaine Taylor
10. Ricky Hatton
Also guys it doesn't make sense to back track and match bigger guys up with smaller ones regardless of any type of "scale".
lol bigger guys are just more dangerous fighters.

That's how it used to be originally when Sugar Ray Robinson started the whole thing. Now it's a ranking system based on accomlishments.
Not just skills but what you do with your skills.
Yes it was put into place because of Ray Robinson.
But not "How would they fare at any weight".
It's "How would Ray fare at Heavyweight". The supreme weight.

P4P means hypothetically, who has the best skills if they were all the same weight. You have it wrong mate.

Only thing I could even think about changing is maybe Klitschko ahead of Mijares and possibly Calderon but for right now the heavyweight division ain't shit to me and I STILL can't get over the Lamon Brewster KNOCKOUT!!!!

let me get this straight, some of you have calzaghe at number 2 on the p4p ratings cause he beat lacy, bika, manfredo, kessler, and hopkins? not on my list.
Yes, we do, although I didn't take the Bika or Manfredo fight into account. I do take the Eubank fight, the Reid fight, the Woodhall fight, the Brewer fight and the Mitchell fight into account though (all former champions).
You dissapoint me, especially considering you're a Chargers fans like myself.
I'm not going to debate the arrangement of the fighters, we sail this boat every time someone posts their P4P list updated.
But I will say I have no clue why you guys put Heavyweights on a P4P list.
They're the supreme weight, and it basically nullifies any comparison to lower weights.........when they're fighting against the biggest, strongest, hardest hitting, most durable fighters on average.

1. mayweather
2. calzaghe
3. pacquiao
4. cotto
5. vazquez
Spot on. I find it very difficult to complete a top ten P4P list, but the top five are clear even if you'd rearrange the order.

napoleon do?
he got the french to fight. that's not an easy thing to do!!! :-)
when was the last time the germans feared the french? ha ha ha
remember , the french plant trees along the champs-elysees so that the germans can be comfortable marching in the shade......
Getting the French to fight is impressive, but it pales in comparison to a Tye Fields 1st round KO. A Fields 1st round KO can go back for centuries. When you talk to your grandkids who are you going to be talking about? How Napoleon got the French to fight, or how you survived a Tye Fields KO?
Pfff...
It's ridiculous that you even compare these mortals to the legendary Tye "fuckin'" Fields. What the hell has Napoleon ever done to become great?
