click on the second picture whe it says Bj Penn gives his thoughs on Sean Sherk
in the video he says this is the UFC this isn't Mayweather boxing where people pay 60 bucks to see a fight and he runs, it's action
I think this is just Dana White telling them to say this sorta stuff... IMO
I'm not a monster on the mat. I'm just ok.
Usually the Machado schools are more reasonably priced than Gracie ones. The Militich school has the best rates I've ever paid.
I'm in Austin. I train at a Militich affiliate school right now. I used to train at a Renzo affiliate under Rudy Vasquez. That's where I got my Blue Belt. I still train some with Rudy though, mostly I come in and spar with his guys.
I competed against a guy from Carlos Machado's school a few years ago. He was slick, he won on points. Is the 10th Planet guy Wallid Ismael?
I'll actually be in San Bernardino in August visiting family.
miletich and gracie? remind me never to roll on the mat with you. most of my stuff is amateur training. a few of my friends were black belt in tae kwon do and his sensei let us use the dojo. one of my other friends used to train at a muay thai gym down in van nuys and the other was all-city wrestling and made it to the state championships. all i brought to the table as a tae kwon do and karate quitter was my bjj books and renzo videos and would practice my grappling with my friend and his high school team and his wrestling club from cal state fullerton. learned a lot of great takedowns and defenses from those guys as well as good elbows technique from my muay thai friend. tea kwon do is junk for fighting. i really do want some real mat training though and i'll look up machado again.
no not wallid. this guy is american. he use to do announcer work for pride. skinny dude. i think he's the first american to catch royler in a choke.
No wonder he mentioned Mayweather,he knew the press would talk about him.All he wanted was publicity
Another Mayweather groupie. Who the fuck cares how much they make? You guys should realize how foolish you make yourselves look when you act like Mayweather's publicists instead of actual boxing fans. It's pathetic.
The UFC constantly is trying to attack boxing. its ridiculous. while most people agree that both sports can coexist, Dana White constantly tries to degrade boxing and encourages his fighters and promoters to go out of their way to discredit boxing. Boxers do this sometimes too, but the whole entire UFC is hostile towards boxing.
I remember after the Hatton Mayweather fight, the next day a UFC promotional report started out degrading the fight and saying that the UFC event would be much better. Thats just disgusting.
I like mma, but I am tired of the UFC trying to constantly trying to make competition with boxing, when it is not need whatsoever. Dana White would do well to shut up and pay his fighters more, because he pays them jack shit compared to what they deserve and what the UFC makes. oh yea, and if one of your fighters wants to retire or go into another sport(Randy Couture, Anderson Silva), how about you stop trying to control them just to make more money.
Never payed or watched UFC. I like MMA but the future is DREAM. Check that out. UFC is old news.

What city are you in? It's never too late to start.
true. i live in the san fernando valley in la. we have good bjj gyms here now but back then the only one i knew of was royce's brother's school in torrance and it was too far and kinda expensive for a teenager with no job. (mommy paid for tae kwon do and karate but won't pay for "streetfighting school" plus i would always get into fights when i was young and dumb so it was a big no-no)
we have a machado dojo here now and 10th planet run by what's his name? who's the guy that was famous for triangling Royler Gracie at abu dhabi? i forgot his name. i'll probably join machado like i've always planned but it all depends on the work schedule.
what school are you in? i see a renzo avatar.
And how much money does that loser have?
It's not all about money moron. If it's all about who made the most money then N'Sync would be one the best musical groups ever. And Ryan Leaf would be a better quarterback than Roger Staubach.
No wonder he mentioned Mayweather,he knew the press would talk about him.All he wanted was publicity
Floyd gets a lot of $$, lol he can retire right now and live his life, no job no nothing lol
since i was 15 back in the 1st ufc in '93-94. wanted to do bjj but never got around into it , machado and 10th planet didn't come around my area 'til recently.
What city are you in? It's never too late to start.
it's 2 different sports. it's like saying jordan would dunk all over babe ruth or dick butkus would strike out against sandy koufax. you can't compare the two even though mma does take some boxing lessons into their matches.
Well said. Some people just don't get that. And like I said earlier, almost all the good MMA guys respect boxing and have boxing trainers to work their boxing.
Yeah, I've heard that story before too. Goodridge himself admitted it was true.
Have you followed MMA for a long time?

i love boxing since i was a kid but i loved the ground game since i watched royce win. i think ufc fights with mostly punching is boring. i watch ufc for triangles and armbars. if i want to see striking i'd rather watch boxing. the 2 shouldn't be compared. of course a mma guy is gonna get koed in a pure boxing match but i guarantee you a boxer gets choked or armbarred in a pure grappling match as well.

remember when gary goodridge first entered ufc representing the korean martial art of "kuk sool won"? gary goodridge couldn't even pronounce what martial art he was representing but that was the only way to get into the ufc back them. he never even trained in it he just beat up the "real" champion that dojo had in sparring and they asked them to wear their gi and they'll let him take their man's place at the ufc.

Doesnt matter what this cat says, He is just trying to get Floyd to roll around on the ground with him in a cage for big money. Look this is how i look at MMA take away the ground game allow them to kick and punch and they all still get whipped by boxers, these cats are straight up and down no head movement nothing.
MMA is a joke to be honest these guys are not skilled enough to get it done with just their two fist
You actually believe that garbage?
It's just an excuse for why they don't put up.
ha ha ha
"my fighting style is too deadly to be used in a sport......"

I have seen schools with my very own eyes not through word of mouth
that are proper skilled fighters PROPER SKILLED not ground and hump
im talking real skilled and they take there art way to seriously to enter the ufc to them its a way of life...

No no no. Where to begin. Ugh.
-No one one on the street walks into MMA. They'll get submitted.
Thailand and China? Good god man. Go back and UFC 1. Those chinese clowns got owned. Kung Fu sucks. Put down your bruce lee tapes.
UFC guys are the best martial artist because they FIGHT each other unlike the guys over there that hide behind hype.
See: the Gracie Challenge for evidence as to why you are wrong. Kung fu has never done anything other than movies. And Muay Thai is trained in and used in UFC so I'm not sure what your point is with that comment.
Errr its not bruce lee tapes im watching its chuck norris! lolol

'Sobral's background is in wrestling Before joining the Gracie Barra Combat Team, he was a Brazilian national wrestling champion and was trained in Ruas Vale Tudo, a martial arts system developed by Marco Ruas'
i fort so
okay. maybe that's why i thought his background was kickboxing because of the marco ruas connection.
ruas vale tudo=luta livre. these brazilian guys love naming their style after themselves.
just like gracie jiu-jitsu=kodokan/kosen judo
maybe floyd should say i don't do "boxing" i do "mayweather ring generalship"
