Just wanted to pick up a different subject Until Julio (hopefully) Gives us something else to talk about other than
"Cotto Vs Mayweather: The 2 year Speculation Countdown to the Actual Countdown"
Are you guys keeping Track on Chavez Jr.?
I think he might be an actually good fighter... At times of his fights I feel he holds back and works on different things... He's not looking for knock out until The fights hit the later rounds... *(now if he just lands a great punch and the guy can't handle it ok..theres ya K.O.)*
What guys would you like to see him against?... The big names I mean.
Who could be a good (solid is the word) Test for him to prove that he's more than a padded record holder.. (which he is right now). And How long till the big test?
With No ametuer Career How far do you think he could actually take himself in Pro. Boxing?
Any big names you think he could beat right now?
I'd like to see what you guys think and if he looks to be holding back on the fighters to you as he seems to me.
Do you know his father? (not sarcasm) His father was bigtime boxer.. had NUMEROUS fights and is an oldtime legend in mexico..
His father had a good punch.. lost to de la hoya because of a BAD cut that he had from training...
The fight got stopped at the end of the 2nd round... The cut from training camp Re-opened from a young oscars JAB... it bloddied his face badly .. i think it was over the left eyebrow...
Ref stopped the fight early and oscar became a bigtime fighter in mexico.. this was a good name for him.
Ur makin it sound as if the cut was the reason Chavez lost... he woulda lost anyways. ODH was schoolin Chavez. I dont think Chavez could beat DLH even in his prime.

Fight got stopped in the 4th, Oscar was dominating the whole fight. Oscar never became a big time fighter in Mexico, as a matter of fact, he was probably more hated for this than respected. Incidentally , they fought again, and Oscar made Chavez Quit on his stool.
i have a question why the heck is this guy on ppv on top of that he is the main event, am i missing something

He is still young and raw, so I'll hold my final judgement on him for a little bit. Seen him fight in numerous occasions, and does not spark an immediate wow response when seeing him fight. Time and next level opponents will determine his fate, would like to see him against Alex Garcia(fought Simms,Rivera) . I would even settle for JC candelo, good fight to measure his progress againsta veteran who can box and has some pop.
I think it is prety accurate statemeat, that most people are not opposed to the Kid, personally.Rather they are opposed to him headlining PPv's when he has not EARNED the right.
you're absolutely right, i've got to see him fight someone who i've actually heard of or seen before he KO's them on PPV.... but EVERYONE just keeps mumbling the same shit "he has no amatuer career"!!, does that give him a free pass to pad his record?? for how many more years? i know he's only like 21 but i'd like to see him possibly fight some one like Jesse Feliciano, maybe?
That would actually be a good one...
I'd like to see him face Feliciano...
If he could knock him out.. I might think more of him.
But i still think he has been holding back on the guys he's been fighting as of late.
Another classic example of a protected fighter. This guy would be no where if he had a different father.. He's an opponent period but will end up getting a big money fight because of careful marketing and fight selections.. I've seen nothing so far to indicate he's legimate yet. How about fighting some real fighters in the top ten instead of the tomato cans he's fed.

i will never be convinced. he is overrated.
Hey i know his father has given him huge shoes to fill and everyne hopes for so much of him...
But he's only 18... Overratted might be too strong for him at this point...
Especially with no AM background... He's still sorta learning in there.
I'm not convinced either. I still think once he starts fighting a higher class of opposition, he'll lose. Same goes for Omar.
who she he test against?./... how long?
Hes probably gonna be a padded record holder for a while. I like watching him fight but who knows where he'll end up. I dont think he'll step it up until he's like 24 and by then who knows what division he'll end up in, he fights @ 153 and looks bigger than all his opponents, and who knows what the division will look like in another year or two, he might not be able to be that competitive.
His brother omar too, he had some real nice offense, he got backed up too much, but hes only 18 I think, I think he could be pretty good in time.
Id like to see him get hiss ass beat by de la hoya. Then have chavez sr. go up in the ring and punch DLH
de la hoya whoops chavez jr's ass for calling him out, chavez sr walks in the ring and gets his ass whooped again like he did several years ago.

HMMM... I'd like to see him go all out before I say he'd get destroyed by a old de la hoya.
would be a great win if he could avenge that Horrible cut in the fight Oscar had with his father in just 2-3 rounds .
