According to British Newspaper News of The World Amir Khan Has split with Trainer Oliver Harrison and is looking to Hook up with an American trainer including Freddie Roach, Buddy McGirt and Roger Mayweather. He is reported to having a deadline of June 21st when he next fights in Birmingham.
This seems foolish on Khans' part as he seemed to be progressing nicely uinder Harrison's tutoring. That being said he recently meet Mayweather Jr. and co. at their training camp and he is reportedly a big fan of Freddie Roach also.
Do you think he is doing this to get more recognition in the USA? or he is impatient with his career's progress? Or he just thought Harrison has taken him as far as he could. The older he gets the more he is turning into Prince Naseem Hamed in my opinion!
he'll get McGirt I reckon he's shown a willingness to cross the pond.
I doubt Roger Mayweather knows what a passport is, and Khan ain't going over there lets face it.

This is goood! Amir can learn to keep that Left higher and work on his defense so even if his chin is suspect which i think it is it won't matter because he has the defense to negate it.
Even Nas was slagging Mayweather's attitude on Friday Fight Night! That's saying something!
its like he said though Naz was tongue and cheek most of the time

I don't understand where the image of a nice respectful boy comes from!?!?! He has slagged off almost everyone he's fought he was very disrespectful of Graham Earl in the build up to the fight and he has rubbished Jon Thaxon for ages, even whilst ducking him when thaxon was British champ and commonwealth no1 challanger!!
Khan is very good and i do like him but he is not the clean cut nice lad he is made out to be by the media
Ha do u remeber that interview he did where he said they are good lads ive been fighting i just make them look ordinary ,he tried not to sound arrogant but he eneded up doing exactly that :lol1:

I think he is a nice kid. Did you see him on that crappy gameshow denying that copper £100,000 by raping him in a penalty shootout. lol
Amir can't become a bad boy, that kid has too much expectation on his shoulders to be a good role model in his politically precarious position as a Britsh Muslim.
He's a nice guy, but the pressure on him is intense. Like Haye can rubbish Klitschko Amir will never be able to do that to anyone.

I agree that it is a good decision, but who will he get? Surely if he wants a Mayweather or someone to come in, he will have to base himself in the states.
Good move IMO. His current team have no reputation and seem like a bunch of yes men, they have no authority over him. I'm sure Amir has already learned all he can from Harrison.
It will only be a good move if he stays and trains exculsively in America. I can't see that happening as he is too big a draw in britain! he is still young and relatively inexperienced so he needs a trainer who can concentrate solely on him and work with him consistently. Hoping across the pond every few weeks won't cut it at this level!
