and im not saying welterweight, that's way way way too easy. pick any fighter of his record regardless of weight, and give me a strong arguement why cotto would loose.
you make your name and prove your abilities when you beat name and fighters around, in his earlier days floyd beat some decent fighters, but ability wise, he didnt beat anyone that cotto couldnt handle
this is not a floyd-hate, votto-love thread, this is a real question for fans of both guys.
floyd cant use an excuse that cotto is not marketable because miguel was making PPV apperances way faster than floyd did. it took mayweather his whole career to put his ignorant ass on PPV and with arturo gatti, where arturo was the attraction.
doesnt work that way cuz Floyd is P4P king so he should be able to beat anyone. But if there was anyone that could give him trouble, just like DLH would give Cotto trouble, Mosley would give Floyd trouble.
*waits for Floyd stan to give me red k and tell me how Floyd would destroy Mosley*
lol
the biggest floyd hater on the boards
get a life dude
Why did Floyd not persue a fight with Kostya? or fight a title eliminator to fight Ricky? yet , fought two title eliminators to fight GAtti?
( please refrain from calling names and just answer ) :ugh:
I honestly think the Gatti fight was about establishing a PPV name, nothing else.
Seriously... is there any other fighter in history was was as popular and bad as Gatti? A lot of people watch Floyd look like Jesus Christ in the ring against Gatti. It's a pretty good start to the PPV dossier for Floyd I think.
You can speculate that he would have gone after Tszyu after he beat Gatti had Hatton not beaten Tszyu, but as said before that is just speculation. He was calling Tszyu out when he was fighting at 130 though, which is a positive sign for the prospect of that fight happening had Hatton not crashed the party.
Either way, could have, should have, would have. Missed opportunity to get a great fighter on his resume.
look at all those goodies you got and you want some K from me?
you answered properly, you dont deserve green k for that. Thats like a father wanting credit for taking care of his kids. You're suppose to!!!:puppy_dog
jk, how do I give K?
lol u bastard... on my post... at the bottom theres a karma button
and that shit is fro chris rock lol
"shit.. i take care of my kidsss"
"Whatcha wanna cookie? your supposed to ya dumb motha fucka!"

Floyd seems to be all about the WBC belt and nothing else... thats what I see from it.
Floyd weighed 147 and fought DLH at an even higher weight while Hatton weighed 145 and is not naturally as big as Floyd. If the fight was to be for the JWW titles that Hatton owns, why did Floyd not agree to fight at 140 where Hatton is clearly much better?
Because Floyd is the consensus p4p fighter? hatton doesnt get what he wants, its obvious Floyd didnt need to fight Hatton, this was hattons big chance...
From what i remember Hatton and billy graham both said hatton would be faster and stronger than floyd... with body shots that will hurt with every connect... yeah uh, no.
If floyd dropped down to 140.... Floyd would be even better.

You do know that Hatton had a chance to fight Floyd at 140...After Hatton beat KT...Floyd pursed a fight at 140 but Billy Graham clearly stated that he needed some more fights before he fought Mayweather...Hatton and his team declined him at 140. So when the fight was brought up again it was on Mayweather terms...Either weight (140 or 147) Hatton would still get beat..Just face it Hatton cant beat Floyd.
Floyd already did , the paper says 147 but it was a jnr welter fight if real weight means more to you than the numbers stamped on the belt how many times do some of you need to be told the real weight of PBF vs Hatton . .

Its the Welterweight version of Whitaker, hes taking slowly cause rumors has it hes lazy, and needs experince but he'll soon go for a belt hes ranked 47 right now and Mayweather Cotto are taking all the time in the world to fight each other. First puerto rican to win a medal in the Olympics since Daniel Santos.
he's hella lazy.the mufuka needs to turn on the fucking booster's all ready.
You cannot effectively box without a jab. Literally, boxing, to me, is scoring points in a round without engaging enough for your opponent to get a chance to score their own points. Shane Mosley cannot sit on a lead by protecting his lead with the jab. I just can't label him as a boxer.
Judah is not a slick boxer either IMO.
Just two fast guys who fight with their power shots. Not boxers in the sense of slickness. well not every boxer is as fast as those two. that's why they're able to get away with it. and i agree a talented jabber will always be a problem. even Big George in his later years truly learned the importance of a good jab. but you can still outbox an opponent without having a holmes-type jab. a decent one would do. but when you got the kind of hand speed that these guys have, they can enjoy that advantage.
but they're alot of brawlers who can actually box pretty well. one name that quickly pops up is gatti. true his game was improved working with Buddy, but arturo knew when to box and when to brawl. but judah and mosley are pretty good boxers. but i dont think you gonna see too much boxing on their PPV fight.
in the judah-mayweather fight zab was able to have his way with floyd even if it was for the first 3-4 rounds. floyds was able to turn it around because he came forward and pressured zab. when that happend he backs off and becomes a target. you can also pressure mosley but he wont go away.
mosley can box, it's just he likes to brawl more and it really takes away from his ability as a boxer when you watch him. shane is not that crafty with the jab, but he boxes in flurries. i guess you could say he's a little like judah, id say zab's jab is a little better but neither man really focuses too much on setting it up. because of their speed they can throw quick combinations and get away with it.

... I do think that is selling him short just a bit.
Most sluggers don't have the counterpunching skills that Sugar Shane does.
How about, a jabless, mid-range pressure fighter/counterpuncher?
Well Mosley likes to stay in the pocket a lot more longer then say a midrange person.
I don't really know how well Mosley can box. His jab is terrible... just dreadful for an elite fighter. He is more suited to throwing combinations from mid-range, but if he is forced to get on his toes and outbox someone, it generally doesn't go that well.
If it is a pure boxing match, Mayweather wins probably close to every round. If Mosley fights the way Mosley fights, he can make it a lot closer.
Unfortunately, the jab is the way to stop Mosley from doing his thing, and Mayweather has a very good jab, and will use it when he sees it is working

Threadstealer summed up Mosley's style pretty good. "Speedy Slugger"
I'd completely agree with it.
