man I was about to post this but waited lol.
I will give you some good news, though. The rest of the world doesnt give a damn about nascar.
well, Nascar's popularity is growing in Mexico. As we speak, Nascar is on the search to cultivate a successful Mexican driver for marketing purposes.
There's been plenty of F1/indy/whatever jumping to go to NASCAR. I don't know why i know this shit. I follow sports too much.

Kinda like boxing and UFC. isnt it sad?
NASCAR is lowtech, second rate drivers (compared to f1 or rally), but hey... there is PLENTY of rednecks around, so there you go.

I could care less about racing. But from what I read F1 is declining in popularity and bleeding money. TrashCAR a.k.a. NASCAR is blowing up. Rediculous how many people watch that crap. I went to a race to years ago in KCK and there were over 150K there. It was really funny to see all these people with expensive jackets of there favorite racer completely covered in advertisements. Kindof ironic to me. If you ever get the chance to go to a NASCAR race go, the environment will atleast keep you entertained.

Indy is the completely lame ass American version of Europe's Formula One, which is badass in every way!
Go McLaren!
Indy was better than now, until sometime in the 90s when they split it in CART and IRL.
Still even in its glory days, old retired F1 drivers (andretti, fittipaldi, mansell) would own the local drivers big time.
Go Ferrari!

Nascar ≠ Indy, ok?
The cars they race dont even remotely look (or behave) similar (except they have 4 wheels).
Nascar races are on OVALS only. Indy500 is part of a “league” where they race on street courses too.
just thought you guys wanted to talk about something real
btw nascar is much more rednecky than indy500
True but the Indy500 is the only big race for that circuit. Nascar is laughing all the way to the bank. And it is country.

man i never really knew how hard you are for me. i cant say that im happy for floyd because i never really care for another man's success. do i care that floyd is gettin money? of course not. his income doesnt affect mine. but we are on a forum. a forum where young girls such as yourself continue to try to feed me bullshit that everything he is doing is for the greater good. floyd can keep getting that money for all i care. im AM glad that he gives back to the community. but as a boxing fan, i dont like to wait for him to come around and decide what he wants to do, be a boxer or be an entity. if he wants to be an entity, great. i hope he finds success in that but relinquish what you hold and let the fighters who DO still want to prove what they can do and accomplish do their work.
Man you are like a female. Are you butthurt Floyd is waving the green flag? If you don't care why the hell are you posting so much in this thread? My goodness someone get this girl a tampon.

Man that's interesting. I guess I could see it b/c it's the Indy 500 and thats glitz/glam race. I wonder how many people there will give a shit about PBF. I wonder what would happen if he waved the green flag at Talladega???

it definately takes skill, but personally I think that someone who stays in the pocket and avoids shots is showing more skill than someone who is using the ring to avoid them. just as someone being able to throw combinations and land them on an opponent is showing more skill than someone who throws one shot at a time.
Im definately not saying that Mayweather isnt showing skill when he potshots, he sure as hell does, thats very clear. but I think he could reveal more of his skills to us if he were to throw combinations because not many people have the handspeed or ability to be able to put punches together so well.
Mayweather's p4p rating went skyrocketing when he was able to land triple right hands on Gatti, and p4p is supposed to be a pretend idea about who is the most skillful and everything, so...
but I guess in the end it depends on what you think 'skills' are.
Skills are things that you learn to do. Throwing combos is a skill, clinching is a skill, headbutting is a skill, moving around the ring is a skill
The combo punching happens only when he fight people who roughly weigh the same as he does (Recently Judah and Hatton).
The thing is as long as he fights against people who are 10 lbs +heavier than him on fight night (Oscar and Cotto for examples) he has to think twice about staying in the pocket and letting his hands go. By shutting them down with a few accurate punches he can still win, and win safe. Sure it's less impressive.
If you ask me, in an ideal world he should have stayed at 140, which was the perfect weight for him. Too bad after zoo retired there was no money left at 140 except Hatton. It's sad, but not surprising: the fucker loves money, like 99.9% of people.

I agree on higher output=more fun, but Floyd's potshotting takes mad skills, because of what he is preventing the other guy from doing: throwing his punches. He does it by potshotting with the occasional sharp counters, movement, showing different angles, changing rhythm, there is a lot of skills in having a bigger (or faster as was the case with judah) guy stop throwing punches on you.
It's negative, it's not fun, doesnt mean it does not take skills as something ”flashier“ does.

you know, I dont give a damn, he can do all that stuff all he wants. hes getting his name out there, reminding people that boxing still exists. I say, keep it up. being on Nickelodeon could make a bunch of kids magically inspired to try out boxing for all we know, go for it!
now, all we need to do make him fight Cotto and, most important, BE EXCITING.
I mean really, it cant be that hard to throw 45 punches a round. that still isnt a lot, but for someone as accurate as Floyd he would at least double how exciting he is to watch. and honestly, I think he would be just as effective if he threw combos instead of pot shotted
really, its a damn shame. I enjoy watching him fight because of the skills, but if he could only just pick up his punch output and not rely on potshotting...I mean, potshotting isnt even incredibly skilled, its based more on reflexes and having a frustrated opponent chase after you.
