Here's some stats for you. I counted the clinches playing the video at 2x speed (it's hard work watching this snoozefest) but the numbers should be accurate. There were quite a number of times Hopkins tried to hold but failed. These failed attempts are, of course, not counted. Near the end of round 11, Hopkins tried to bait Calzaghe into a brawl, so Calzaghe came forward... and they clinched. LOL.
Round 01: 3
Round 02: 12
Round 03: 14
Round 04: 16
Round 05: 12
Round 06: 16
Round 07: 14
Round 08: 13
Round 09: 12
Round 10: 15
Round 11: 15
Round 12: 18
Total = 160
Even more clinches in this fight than Hopkins against Winky Wright (127). Is it any wonder why Calzaghe looked like crap in this fight?

Calzaghe looks like crap all on his own...........Bernard just helped.
Against certain fighters like Trinidad and Tarver.......Hopkins dominated and look good in there. Fighting a slapper in Joe and a guy with a Turtle defense like Winky helped in making the fights ugly.
Bernard was 43. WTF did you expect?! Let Calzaghe come out of retirement to fight Chad Dawson and then lets count clinches.
Again, His fanboy vision makes it impossible to see that.
You have a real problem with me don't you? :lol1:

Calzaghe is such a joke. Has there EVER been a fighter with more inflated, fake record? The only other boxer who belongs in the same discussion is Ottke.
How did you get off my ignore list racist retard?

Enough bullshit for today, your parameter has ran out.

Just saw the fight again, damn it's close. Closer than I thought when I saw it first... And I'm a huge Calzaghe fan. Shiit... I seriously can't score the bout... Hopkins hits Calzaghe with a lot of really really hard punches and Calzaghe is missing a lot. Due to the inactivity of Hopkins, and the low-blow (which I think was exaggerated) and a case of 5-6 headbuts, I think Hopkins fighting style do not deserve a victory.
Hey S a m u r a i ........next time you choose a retired fighter to revere choose one that was pretty special and worthy of note/bringing up.
hey hopkins isn't retired yet has he?:la:
Actually I remember someone took the time to watch many rounds in slow motion and basically disproved compubox's numbers. They guy even posted screen shots. I don't think he did it for the entire fight but a few rounds calzaghe was credit for say 15-20 punches when in reality he landed like 3-5.
If I'm ever bored out of my mind and have a lot of pain killers I might just do it myself one day. But probably not. lol
That might have been me. I did report watching a few rounds in slow motion and counting the punches landed. For one round (I wish I could remember which) I want to say he landed 4-6 punches when compubox had it 15-18. Keep in mind I was counting ANYTHING that landed including grazing punches and taps to the body and head during clinches (which compubox counts as "power punches" since they aren't jabs). I don't think the most bias nuthugger could even come up with the numbers compubox did.
I did post some screenshots in the link below when I was debating with someone over what landed, not sure if this is what you remember.

Almost all clinches were initiated by Hopkins.
