what was wrong with joe's face? Aside from his nose looking like he walked into a telephone pole? I'd say it was the unicorn horn growing out of his forehead. Good fight. Had it for Hop by the KD and pretty much saw all else pretty even (more or less). From ringside it looked like Hops slipped most, that Joe threw (let alone landed_ a lot less than Compucrox is stating, but who knows...and who cares. This looked far from a JT-like performance for Hop, but like I said, I saw it from ringside. I can live with Joe winning by a point or a draw, but 116-111 was atrocious. He just wan't landing punches, and everything of note was being landed by Hopkins. You could hear the shots landing from off-floor. All good.

That's getting a bit old, no pun intended. I'll say it again, Hops best weapons and chances against Joe were his super defence, ring intelligence, and counter punching. They made it a close fight with Joe as they didn't suite him. Even 3+ years ago Hops didn't have those attributes zoned so well, so Joe beats him easier. Your views may not be popular but I agree, it took every trick in the book to keep Joe away and it still wasn't enough. All this shit about a prime hopkins doesn't wash with me, that style was his best chance and has taken years to develop. Coming forward against a Calzaghe with unbroken hands earlier in his career he would have his arse kicked. to be honest, the punch stats dont really tell an accurate story. Cal landed about double what Hop landed, but some of them were ineffective. but the problem is, you cant expect to win a fight landed 2-3 effective punches against someone that is landed 15-19 ineffective punches. they may not be causing damage, they may not land cleanly, but they are landing at a larger percentage than what you are doing. it should be about quality, not quanity for me...i thought it coulda gone either way, more offen then not, its gon go to tha more active fighter as we seen wit this fight, mararito williams, taylor pavlik II...one thing tho, if u say zaghe landed double b-hops output, iont kno how u go from 2-3 effective(b-hop) to 15-19 ineffective(zaghe) lmfao shouldnt it be 2-3 to 4-6?...an yes, imo id say sd but to hopkins.

They must have been somewhat effective, as they slowed Hopkins down and enabled him to speed up, so record punches landed on Hops, minimum on Calzaghe. Furthermore for the first time Hops was tired, out of breath and clinching, lost accuracy and timing, signs of effective punches from the opponent. Joe's body shots were effective, Hops has the wind progessively taken out of him, hence holding, losing his breath, time wasting, not being as effective himself. I actually think in an odd way, Joe hurt him more now, as Nards not used to being hit lots of times at a slightly less hard pace. Not enough to really hurt him, but clearly left him stunned a few times, slowing down, losing effectiveness, his breath, and just not as able to war Joe. Hops face is rarely that marked. Joes fckin hard and wasn't really ever that hurt, sorry, he says aswell, flash knockdown, and not particularly hurt. I trust him over Hops any day. Besides, Joe landed some not so hard punches on Kessler and Lacy that managed to mark them, but don't Nards odd face.
