Hi Guys,
I have been looking at Boxing scene for a few months now and must say its the best i've found for upto date info. I've never joined but after the comments about Joe C I just had to join to say my few pence worth.
Unfortunately, the Americans have a massively overrated opinion of their recent boxing success. Of all the ring belts the usa have only 2, iirc uk has 3-4.
Boxing started in England.....not the USA. Its about time USA boxing scene stopped saying that European fighters have to come over to USA to prove themselves...most of the action and indeed the best in the world are in Europe and Russia.
With so many belts being held outside of the USA, l say that its about time US fighters travelled to get their own recognition.
Joe has been champ for over a decade, and he is being criticised for not fighting in the states. However, he is the champ so fighters should chase him and come to the UK if they want to be the world champ. Joe Calzaghe brought the SM belts home and he should not have to travel to prove he is the best by beating the over rated US fighters such as Tarver, Hopkins, Roid Jones, Pavlik, etc etc.
Joe may slap (due to his broken hands) but he will beat everything that the USA has to offer.
Now stop hating and be grateful that a 'nice, classy guy' is beating the 'ugly, abusive, bullying, rude, gangster type boxers' that seem to pour out of America. First Lacy, then Hopkins....next Roy Jones....or whoever else they put in front of him
Tis all i'm saying.
Peace.
I agree with most of what you say. There is absolutely a tendency in the US to believe that all their best fighters are legends, whilst all the rest of the world's best fighters are frauds.
The truth is that most 'elite' boxers, in all parts of the world, tend to be overestimated by their fans, underestimated by fans of other fighters, and for the most part are not 'legends' at all, but merely very good, but eminently beatable boxers. Everyone is human.

Roy Jones is a good guy. other than that i kind of agree. i think the pendulum is swinging toward Europe. We can sell out stadiums and in America they are really struggling.
