What do we think about Mikkel Kessler?

Lethal, intimidating looking, sound acting, underated Euro fighter. Got close to beating Calzaghe, similarly Joe sussed the style mid way and pulled off with the win against both him and Hopkins. So for me it underlines the fact Kessler is certainly up at that level.

He gave joe a good fight and hurt him .. he will go on to fight good opponents .. watch his future. Doesn't mean he will beat them. He does not seem to have that inner fire he should. He fights like a robot and when he gets in there with someone who has talent + can hit hard, his ass is grass.

Totally overrated. Beats a string of fringe guys, then fought someone with talent and freezes up like a deer in the headlights. Fought the same fight against Joe in every round when things were not going this way. It was like he has a script and he had to follow it no matter what. Is not as aggressive as he should be and should have tried harder against Joe. Instead he stood there like a good boy and had no plan b. He puts on a better display than Bernard Hopkins. At least he comes to fight, not run backwards for 12 rounds.

He is a very very good fighter who looked less than that against one of the best in recent memory. I think he is better than both Kelly Pavlik and Chad Dawson if that tells you something. I think Wlad Owns is right that he is the best fighter in 160-175 who isn't Joey C.

Hes just generally hard as nails, strong as fuck, has a huge heart and owns the SMW division, he is slightly one dimensional but he takes that one dimension and makes it his own, Brilliant fighter.

I think he is extremely talented, I want to see him clear the SMW divison.
