i rate both almost at the same level.... but hopkins a little ahead of joe. but thats just my opinion....and if somone rates calzaghe over hopkins i dont think it would be an unreasonable point of view.
Joe Calzaghe is higher on the ATG list.
He is the superior fighter and he has a Decisive victory over Hopkins.
great...one slit desicion over a clearly past prime hopkins qualifies zaghe for a higher spot on tha all itme greatest list...by this logic, you would put buster douglas on tha atg list higher than tyson? who has zaghe beaten to be higher on an atg list than a past prime hopkins? lacy? kessler?...one things for sure, i know hopkins beat de la hoya, trinidad, tarver, wright, and imo zaghe...tha list goes on an on...whos more decorated? who has tha more decorated record?
I understand your point, but comparing Ali to anybody but ATG heavies like Joe Louis is inconsistent. That's comparing apples to oranges. The great heavies occupy a different place IMO.
My point is simply that anybody that has as many fights as Calzaghe and holds a belt for as long as he has and retires undefeated..........must be placed on the top tier. You can disagree as to who is higher between Hopkins and Calzaghe, but to say Hopkins is "100 places" higher is mistaken, IMO. In the end, Calzaghe beat Hopkins............
100 spots higher is mistaken, 50 spots higher is a better place, but i cant believe anybody would put calzaghe over hopkins for atg on any level.
So your racist if you score the fight for Hopkins...hahaahahahahaha
Only a racist or a retard would score the fight for Hopkins....You're a mix of both.
114-113 Hopkins.
That's just a typical scorecard from a racist black man like yourself....The black judge also scored the fight 114-113 Hopkins.:nonono:
What fight did you watch....Calzaghes die hard fans on these boards admit that Joe looked like shit.
Your boy clearly lost and got Raped...Stop your whining and crying.
:crying: :crying: :bottle: :bottle:
i guess rocky marciano ranks higher than joe louis?
Some people think so. But, the great heavies are a different ballgame, IMO.
I'm not saying the math is absolutely determinative. I'm saying that you cannot ignore it. Retiring as undefeated champ after a long career is quite an achievement. But, that doesn't mean I would place Calzaghe higher than Roberto Duran.
Disagree. Calzaghe's record speaks for itself. If he retires as undefeated champion, he will place higher than Hopkins on the ATG list....can't argue with the math. IMO Hopkins latter career performances have been rather dull and lackluster even though he is still competing at a high level. He should have retired after KOing DeLaHoya.
i guess rocky marciano ranks higher than joe louis?
really...can u name some good fighters hes fought aside from hopkins, lacy, an kessler...by this logic, u would say hes higher on tha atg list than say muhammad ali? muhammads got 5 losses, i guess joes record 'speaks for itself' an makes him tha greater all time fighter, by your logic of coarse.
i guess marciano is #1 greatest of all time, and if calzaghe can stay undefeated, he will be #2. should a record equate greatest of all time? or tha qulaity of opponents beaten is my question i guess.

Wright-
Tarver-
Trinidad-
De La Hoya-
Eastman-
Joppy-
Glen Johnson-
Hopkins, and easily I think.
Wright-blown up light middleweight
Tarver-always sucked, inconsistent
Trinidad-blown up welterweight
De La Hoya-what did he start his career in? lightweight or something?
Eastman-who? not better than a prime reid who was highly p4p ranked
Joppy-beaten by a blown up welterweight
Glen Johnson-not better than kessler or eubank
Damn nice list man, that shit is amazing.
Id have Hopkins at least 100 spots higher. thoughts?
