I don't think it was a BS decision but the fight was close. I could see someone having Hopkins winning by a round or two because some of those rounds were damn hard to score. Hopkins landed the harder shots & made Cal miss alot but Cal through more punches & was the aggressor for most of the fight. For the most part this fight was fought at Hopkins pace.

what a stupid thread, calzaghe won clearly hopkins is far to lazy, he didnt do enough, how the hell can jujges give him rounds when he runs away doesnt land and holds he wasent even making a fight, some people need to get over it! calzaghe was the better fighter, hopkins at his age and experience knows how judges score fights so what can he complain about he didnt do enough simple. calzaghe out fought him.

I agree, they have to take a serious look at the 'generically coming forward' style of judging in Vegas. The truth is it was extremely hard to tell who was landing alot of the punches between them in the flurries. What the judges did was alot of "...Well, I couldn't see what happened there, but it looked like _____ was happening because this guy was moving inward, and this guy was stepping to the side or moving back..." We need instant replay or some other form of judging. I don't like the feeling I get when I'm watching a fight like that in the 7th or 8th round knowing that I could lose my roll, and I'm going to either be offended by the scores, or the other side will be offended. It's a no win. Fucking crap. Should we have to agonize about judges knowing that they're going to fuck it up somehow? Forget about this fight. What about the some of the actual disasters these fuckers have given us? It's goddamn stressful. :purity: I can see what you are trying to say, but Joe landed more with a higher %, so 2 of the judges on this occasion got it right, which is rare for Vegas.

I am a fan of both fighters: the more skillfull fighter Calzaghe won the fight. More skillful? Are you kidding? Hopkins made him look like a 10-fight novice in the first half of the fight. Thereafter Calzaghe mostly outworked Bernard, it had nothing to do with skill. In that department Bernard was far superior

I watched the fight again and i calm down a bit, now i see it as a verry close fight with a slight edge to Hopkins but a win for Calzaghe is no bullshit decision, it could have gone either way. Its just a lil bit controversal.
