End of Cortez as a respected referee?

Was this the end of Cortez as a respected referee? After the Hatton fight, you could make a case that he was worried about Hatton wrestling & rough-housing in close, so that any time Hatton looked like getting inside, he immediately broke them. But after tonight, where Hopkins seemed to average about 20 clinches a round, lots of rough-housing, use of the head, hitting after the break,etc., with rarely an eyebrow raised from Cortez, I think any boxer from overseas is going to make sure Cortez is pretty close to the last person on the list for ref. Hell, if Cortez had done his job right & cut down on the clinching, we might of actually had a fight break out... Fair but firm??? He can lose that intro.
