Specifically he had a small cut on his nose from when Hopkins landed his only really effective punch of the whole fight.
Only effective punch, you serious?
He was landing uppercuts and bodyshots inside, clearly hurt him with a clean hook in round 7 that staggered calzaghe, hit him with multiple right hands and knocked him down.
Yet compubox wants people to believe hopkins got hit 200 times, despite hardly having a single fucking mark on him?
:lol1:
People who can score fights dont need compubox.
The fight shows compubox is clearly fraudulent, calzaghe has more facial damage then hopkins

The Judging in this fight and on tv was an absolute disgrace. How can any self respecting boxing fan score rounds to a fighter who isnt landing punches. Effective aggression means just that, EFFECTIVE, how is the aggression effective if you dont land punches?
Calzaghe got stunned in round one by a timed right hand, hopkins fiented, calzaghe came in with a wide slap and got straighted on the jaw piece. Hopkins was landing right hands and left hook throughout the fight, and the commentators were missing them all the time, yet everytimes calzaghe threw one of his flurries they were gong crazy, the dude wasnt landing them combos.
The fight shows compubox is clearly fraudulent, calzaghe has more facial damage then hopkins, maninly because he got hit with the harder shots and got hit more cleanly throughout the fight, how the fuck can anyone believe hop got hit 200 times in that fight :lol1:
Hopkins was also landing inside with uppercuts and body shots, and stunned calzaghe again at the end of round 7, then i think it was round 8 or 9 when calzaghe took another two shots clean on the jaw (i think one was after the bell though).
This aint about bashing joe, this is about standing up for boxing and not pussying about whilst some people churn out some of the worst scorecards ever seen on this forum, ive seen 116-112, being stated, which just shows who can spot the difference between landed and blocked punches.
This is what is hurting boxing, bad judging, a guy can walk in a ring, throw about 1,000 punches, land about 10-15 and be world champion, despite the other guy landing on target more than him. Forget how many punches hopkins threw, he landed the cleaner more effective shots, knocked the guy down, and was far more defensivley skilled than calzaghe in this fight. He made calzaghe miss loads, made the fight dirty and controlled the pace of the first half or so of the fight.
Hopkins wasn't doing enough late on, i gave calzaghe rounds 9,11 and 12 in the championship rounds i think, overall i had it 5 rounds for both guys, with 2drawn rounds, but hopkins winning because of the knockdown. But even then calzaghe wasnt landing many shots, just rushing in desperately throwing everything possible and not getting there.
I can see how some people scored this for calzaghe by a point or two (at the most) but his boxing skills dont warrant the hype he gets on here, its time for people to accept that. I will never deny he is world class, but the truth is a 43 year old hopkins knocked him down, out boxed him and had him missing all night, not one serious person can deny that, calzaghe won this fight soley on numbers of punches thrown.
I expected all of this to happen. Calzaghe looked terrible but won on workrate. This was no surprise. I am glad the fight was free.
I am about to start betting!
yeh not his best performance but who likes gd fighting bhop now? lol

I never thought this fight would be boring but am not suprise, B-hop doesnt make for a great fight anymore he alway like to spoil it for his opponents.
I hate Joe he slaps like a bitch, windmills like an amature and his showboating is just plain awkward!
I hate Hopkins he duznt barely punch and bores the tits off me!
Ok, so I run in like a girl and windwill over and over again and that's scoring? Props to Calzaghe for determination but he's no where near the fighter Bernard Hopkins is. That was beyond ugly.
erm...Joe won dude
Does Hopkins know that you can actually trow more than one punch at a time? If he actually would throw something after his right hand instead of clinching he probably would have knocked Calzaghe out.
Hopkins did land the hardest punches but Calzaghe did land more and dictated the pace of the fight. Hopkins punches were few and far in between and eventhough Calzaghe was slapping, he was landing. Hopkins was a victim of his own style, he ran, potshotted and clinched and that's no way to win a fight.
Calzaghe won the fight, that being said I think RJJ knocks his ass out.
He could've been making fun of Calzaghe with the slapping flurry but I think he really wanted a points deduction when he tried to act up the second time.
Ok, then he was. That's up to us now.
I don't know about his own slapping flurrie. This is something you guys have come up with in the last few hours. :lol1:
Faking the low blows was pathetic as I've said, but it seems pretty obvious grampa was badly needing, and getting himself some rest. There's actual evidence of that, and he didn't overly indicate to Cortez he was hoping for a point. I'll stick with the rest.

I thought he was getting a little desperate. Acting up the low punches and trying his own slapping flurry.

Honestly, I saw the guy collapsing in and trying to score any desperate way he could. Wasn't too technical. To say the least..
I guess we saw differently, if anyone was getting desperate in the latter stages, it was Hopkins.
