Cotto has faster feet, but those little booties of his propel him out of position as much as they do in. Once he gets there he tends to plant his weight and throw combos as hard as he can. His feet do nothing. That's one of the reasons he's been hurt in situations like the Torres incident. Cotto likes to cover his footwork mistakes by switching to southpaw. He doesn't always do it for the sake of tactical advantage or the element of surprise. Amateurs know what I'm talking about..
Margarito's feet are considerably slower. Methodical even, but they are almost always in position for Tony to throw an effect combination. He's excellent at setting up his volleys and serves in transition and his feet have alot to do with it. He takes his time, unlike mister anxious aka Miguelito..
Lol at footwork, ring intellegence and defense for Tony... The only person who voted that.. I would love to know. I wouldn't want to have a pointless convo of boxing with him.
Well everything on the current list is more or less subjective so it shouldn't affect the Stamina variable. Some fighters have larger gas tanks than others which should be apparent when you look at fighters like Shannon Briggs.
Stamina is huge, I don't disagree.
Chin? Why, isn't that obvious?
Stamina? Why, isn't that too subjective?

Since you're comparing their traits you might as well add chin and stamina as well......

Judging from the two polls I've made like this you have to assume that people equate faster feet with better footwork.

Unfortunately most people are easily confused by terminology.
No, he was already a 2 year pro. So 18.
The point is. Margarito is human. He can be hurt. I have never seen him tested to the body, so this will be interesting.
I think we can agree that Cotto is the best body puncher in the sport today.
Cotto is the best back puncher. Hands down.

It was Al Bernstein I think. It was after Clottey landed a body shot.
"Interestingly enough, Margarito has been down 5 times in his career. However, the one that really worries me was when he was dropped by a body shot in 1996."
Something like that. Al Bernstein is usually spot on with his facts, so I think its reliable.
Hmm, 1996 though? He was like 12 years old..
I agree, Margarito always seems in position to throw something meaningful.
Margarito does not have that bad of foot work. He actually has some pretty good balance.
Fight commentary was my first thought. You would have posted the source if it was online.
Why did they mention 1996 though? How old was he then, 16?

I voted for both for footwork; a draw. Marg has underrated footwork and usually always has proper footing to be after his opponent and able to punch with power.
