Mind you, I never gamble. I've seen what gambling does to people (family, friends) so I always avoided it. I've never even bet on a fight.
We checked the odds and the line is +190 on BoDog, +220 on BetUS, for Bernard Hopkins.
We analyzed the hell out of both fighters, their respective careers, opponents, knockout ratio, etc:
Seems like the odds are very much with Bernard Hopkins to win this fight. He's fought the tougher opponents, has fought at Lt. Heavyweight, fighting @ home (USA - Vegas), and is pretty much a LEGEND in the game. He doesn't even need this fight to cement his legacy.
Calzaghe needs this win more than Hopkins. If he loses, UK fighters look sorry as hell compared to US. First Hatton loses, now Calzaghe?
Looking at Calzaghe's past opponents in laughable. He's only a Legend in UK.
I'm actually neutral as to who I want to win. I like both fighters. I want to see a good fight. Both men need this win. I will be scoring the fight and I hope the judges are up to it.
My friend is betting $200. He's pushing me to bet at least $100. What say you? What bet you making?

I don't like to gamble. Once in a blue I'll play handball for a few bucks $5-10, but I sure as hell wouldn't bet on someone else's performance(judges included).
I'm getting more and more tempted to throw down. It sure makes watching the fight a lot more interesting since you're invested in a fighter.
Do you think the line will change closer to fight night?
I know for sure that there will be more UK betters putting their money on Calzaghe.
Bernard is not a big draw. I also don't see a large number of Americans, whether white, yellow, or black, betting on Hopkins.
The odds are very good with Hopkins. Put down $100, win $320.
i'll bet 100$ on joe....look at what everyone thought lacy would do...
hopkins in his last fight vs wright..look shitty and slow..joe would counter punch those..actually looked like winky won that fight...couldnt even finish tarver off..winner to face roy jones than retire..
wow, are you really comparing Bernard Hopkins to Jeff Lacy
Can someone explain the US betting system quickly... prob going to put a bet on when im in Vegas.
In England its based on fractions... so the 14/1 bet i spoke about means you put on £1 and would win £14... and get the £1 back ontop.
The minds of Hopkins, Roach, Jackson, and Richardson will not lose to Joe and his dad. The only question is, does Bernard have enough at his age to do what he wants, considering the shape hes in and having Mackie there, I think the smart money is on Hopkins and since he's the underdog youre going to get a good kick back too.
Over here the average prices for the two to win is
Hopkins 2/1
Calzaghe 4/11
Draw 18/1
The one bet that really interests me is 14/1 on Calzaghe winning by KO in rounds 10-12
