A. "Hopkins is a dirty fighter!"
B. "Joe Cortez hates British boxers!"
C. "If Calzaghe was in his prime, this wouldn't even go 1 round!"
D. "Hopkins was home, he would never travel to England and get his ass kicked"
E. All of the above
This will be an interesting match because both Nard and Joe are smart fighters.
Wouldn't be surprised if it ends in a draw.
A draw verdict will only mean more dollars in the re-match.
Nard has been underestimated against top opponents.
I would be very surprised if Joe ko's Nard or knocks him down. The same if opposite were true.
As for excuses, I don't think they'll have any excuses. It seems like they'll both own up to a loss and seek to do it again.
I feel Joe's got more to prove and more to lose, at least here in the states. :boxing:
I'm from philly so it won't kill me if hopkins does pull off an upset. I picked him to beat tarver, but tarver isn't shit compared to Calzaghe. If Hopkins did get an upset over Calzaghe it would probably be his best win to date, I think it is his hardest opponent he has ever fought*my opinion*
Many, including these:
1. The weight move - Joe wasn't the same at the weight!
2. The judges - The judges were paid off!
3. The training - Hopkins was on roids! Shilstone is a fraud!
Nah but seriously, no excuses from either side come April 19th. Best man wins, plain and simple.
You're a good hopkins fan
Why do all the people choosing Hopkins seem like the dumbest users on here? Hopkins is a great fighter but so is calzaghe, and Calzaghe is still one of the most underrated boxers right now. He'll beat Hopkins but the same ppl picking Hopkins to beat Calzaghe will give Calzaghe no credit after this fight.
Topic creators excuse will be that Hopkins was too old after Calzaghe fucks him up. But no one forced a gun to Hopkins head and told him he had to take this fight.
