There are rumours that Mikkel Kessler might be moving up to 175. Kessler vs Dawson could be a potential matchup in the future.
Kessler is a much better fighter than anybody at 175 right now, he can beat anyone from 160 to 175 not named Joe Calzaghe IMO.
If this fight ever happens, Kessler will brutally KO Dawson.
Who wins?
You're gonna be 25K poorer after Tarver/Dawson :D
lol, that we will see in two weeks. I bet you are just exciting as i am about Chad's coming out party to the light heavyweight division. You can't hide true feelings. :D
I know one thing though, i will be rich on boxing scene when these fights actually happen, because Dawson will be the underdog and not only will i get odds, i will have a lot of bets as well. If Dawson/Kessler or Dawson/Calzaghe happens, i will bet all of my points, and i wouldn't do that if i wasn't confident. There are things other than chin that a fighter has, like true skill. What would Kessler do if he doesn't get the knockout? Is there a plan B? :fing02:

I agree. With Dawson's chin a wandering questionmark I must say I think he is a knockout waiting to happen. Faced with such an accurate boxer-puncher as Kessler I, and 80% of the posters, simply cannot see any other outcome than a Kessler win.
He hasn't been knocked out, and he has fought some very good punchers. Its easy to say that a fighter has a weak chin, but there are problems if you cannot get to that chin while finding yourself in with a very fast 6'3 southpaw that could punch himself and is an excellent boxer. Wlad has a weak chin, and this forum always say that he will be knocked out against any big puncher that he faces and he is still successful???????????????????????? I respect your opinion though, but we simply cannot think that every fighter with a weak chin is a knockout waiting to happen.
Kessler by brutal KO :boxing:

Have all of you people gone mad? There is no way that Kessler will beat Chad Dawson. Dawson is way too fast for him and too strong. The man was hurt by a slap to the body from Calzaghe. I mean cmon now! He's a straight up and down European fighter that won't be able to keep up with Dawson.. Dawson is also a great body puncher. Don't let the Johnson fight fool you.. Johnson is a tough fight for anyone at 175 and stylistically is all wrong for alot of boxers. He puts alot of pressure on you and throws alot of punches all fight long. Kessler does not. All of you people that picked Kessler to "brutally" knock out Dawson will be eating your words if this fight ever happens. But I doubt it because it seems like Kessler is intent on fighting BUMS. He didn't even wanna fight Miranda who would of moved UP in weight.
too bad for chad that his chin is questionable,so I think Kessler could land some good shots and take dawson out.but then again,is much quicker and could get UD
Dawson and this is including no bias. If Calzaghe could back Kessler up, then what would a natural light heavyweight do that is faster than Calzaghe and actually has the power down the stretch? I like Dawson by stoppage, Kessler has not beaten or done anything to convince me otherwise. His inability to fight going backward and his low confidence( when someone is giving him a hard fight and forcing the action) will play against him. I see this fight going similar to the Adamek fight. Its easy to bring up chin, but the 26 other fighters have found out that hitting it flush is not an easy thing to do.
IMO this is all that needs to be said. Kessler, while a good fighter - won't beat Dawson.

Kessler by KO.
No, Adamek is just a B fighter, while Kessler is an elite fighter. Adamek has some power, but his boxing skills are not even remotely close to Kessler's.
Are you sure? Adamek isn't slow and is a good boxer, just ask Bell. I think his victory over Bell pretty much kills off your "Adamek is a B grade fighter" theory. His power is greater than Kessler's in my opinion. The only thing that Kessler could do better than Adamek in a fight against Dawson is lead rights into the southpaw's head, which for some bizarre reason, Adamek seemed to avoid even after dropping Dawson with a straight right.
To make a fair post, Kessler has showed weaknesses when he is hit hard to the body. Calzaghe had him seriously hurt in his fight, and Glen Johnson had Chad Dawson seriously hurt at times when landing on Chads chin. I still like dawson, but thats to show what I truly think about this fight. Both have shown there weak points
Kessler seems to be a little bit overrated right now, but that happens sometimes, so its no big deal...
then again, Dawson has been overrated for a while too. I never really understood why people considered him 'future p4p #1' or whatever they were saying...but whatever.
remember that Dawson had success against Adamek, who is a similiar fighter to Kessler. Im not saying that Adamek is a better fighter than Kessler, but now Adamek is fighting at Cruiserweight, so hes a pretty big guy...but they have weight classes for a reason yall, people seem to forget that sometimes.
Glen Johnson and Kessler fight nothing alike whatsoever, so thats not exactly a good fight to judge Dawson in this matchup

Adamek is slower too and didn't know how to fight a lefty, not listening to McGirt wasn't helpful either.
