After staying up to watch one of the shittest fights of the year last night , I now think boxing has had its day and will die out in the near future. there is only a few ways of saving itself and heres how.
How to save boxing:
1. DISBAND the WBO
2. BAN clinching it appears every fighter who is in trouble clinches to the opponent even if its for the rest of the fight.
3. Make a champion have only 1 opponent he can choose in a certain time period.
4. Make all title fights 10 rounds instead of 12. Twelve rounds is bad if its a crap fight theres nothing worse.
5. Change the weight of the gloves make them heavier or lighter I dont care because its a reason for making fighters tired after the last few rounds
6. There should be 5 judges not 3 because of the amount of terrible decisions.
Any one agree or disagree

Tarver is always shit to watch!!! your mistake!!! Boxing is nowhere near dead chump!!! dont tell me your one of them ufc fuckwits that like to watch people rolling around on the ground!!!
Dawson Johnson was a cracking fight.
i thought tarver was as useless as woods but atleast tarver had some skills. Woods is ALOT better than what people watched last night.
i think boxing is doing just fine by the way and no changes needed. except maybe tarver should fuck off! and the people on bad chads nuts should realise he aint that special either. i thought he edged the fight with johnson tho.
lol...the showtime card was def. better than the fucking mismatches on HBO
cotto wasnt even trying and marg knew he had it in the 2nd rond
Dawson-Johnson yes, Tarver-Woods no.
Well i agreee that the sport would improve alot more if the promoters didnt have such a part in choosing fights. I cant think of any other sports where this sort of style match up happens?
I thinking clinching isnt exactly allowed?? But i dotn blame them you must have seen fighters do this recover and put the guy down?
I think 12 Rnds is a suitable amount. I think other parts/ rule changes could stop boring fights Williams A Force the biggest waste of and hour or whatever it was..... i stupidly thought it would be exciting, maybe i was a sucker for the hype!?
Glad I didn't watch the Woods Tarver fight, seen some clips and am really disapointed Woods couldn't raise his game, very Hatton esk imo.
1. Would like to see less belts and organisations.
2. Not ban, but punish clinching more.
3. Less choice for fighters is a good thing.
4. 10 rounds is not enough, turn off if your bored. 15 too many, last few rounds is where injuries happen. 11 or 13.
5. Leave the glothes, if anything lighter.
6. Def 5 judges, and foreign ones imposed per Football and others.
This would simplify the un necessary complexity of boxing atm, with so many variables, comparisons, and rows of whoms best. Would only improve the sport and the numbers watching and being involved with it.

You don't think five judges will still make bad decisions? If that's the case, why not 15 judges? No offense, but most of your other ideas are even worse.
No way they should fight anything less than 15rds. 1 of the main problems in boxing is stupid ass fans saying boxing is dead & those who disrespect fighters accomplishments.
No the problem is that u watched a Tarver fight... what were expecting? LOL.
boxing is not just about stand toe to toe and see who can knock who out first! This is a art and i enjoyed the woods tarver fight a great bisplay of boxing skills by magic man!
pffffff what Tarver does is not talent, he is such a joke is TERRIBLE for boxing.

To be honest after a few rounds I watched Tarver vs Woods in fast forward.

Easy to forget about the other 3 great fights last night, I suppose.
And people have been saying "boxing is dead" or "boxing will die in the near future" for years and years. Call me crazy, but I like boxing's chances of staying alive and well.
EDIT: Yeah, fuckers... I screwed up the quote.
Thats what I did as well. After the Johnson Dawson fight, I switched over to HBO the rest of the night. The times I did flip back over, Woods head was getting snapped back like a Pez dispenser.....
Agree to disagree my friend. Boxing is more alive than ever thanks to the great matchups this year. WBO is shite though. I like the idea of 5 judges. But championship fights should be 15 rounds instead of 12. I suppose you want them fighting in underwear with mangled cauliflower ears and their legs wrapped around each other ever so gently (UFC clinching).
