What's wrong with Cotto?

Cotto is getting better every fight. Just as long as he ends up hurting his opponents, I'll always be a fan.

The 3rd just ended and Miguel is on his way to get another KO. But something annoyed me about how Cotto is fighting. What's up with all the stupid posing? Am I the only one noticing him stop fighting and backing off to pose? He'll do some dumb looking switching from rightie to leftie moves. Or jumping up and down after backing off from engagement. I know it's an easy fight but why is he doing that? I've seen a lot of his fights and he doesn't usually do stupid acts like that. Looks like something Floyd would do. cotto has done this in other fights its nothing new but most of you people must have only seen 1 or 2of his fight

This has probably been suggested 2,000 x in the thread, but I didn't read through it. I thought Cotto honestly felt bad about it. He backed off several times after landing combos, after stunning Gomez in round 2 and after knocking him down in the fifth. He either didn't want to hurt Gomez too bad or he just wanted to get some rounds in. Margarito would have killed Gomez in 30 seconds, but I don't think Cotto is like that.

see theres nothing wrong with swagger when its with an evenly matched or better opponent but when its a guy who you outclass in every department by miles and has no chance whatsoever and you have no history of swagger, its not very respectable so if this robot all of a sudden has a personality, he should keep it real and do it with all his future opponents, i.e. marg and floyd, cause doing it against a glorified sparring partner is a bitch move So tell me what you think of Roy Jones then?

cotto really does not take kind to any shit talking before a fight. i feel like he feels disrespected at the simple assertion that his foe thinks he has a chance in winning a fight against him. that swagger was off the fukken charts, good for him! that shit was straightup duran-esque. Also, a lot of that swaggering was a result of going "easy" on Gomez. After Rd 2 it was clear that Gomez could not hurt him. I don't think Cotto wanted to crush him to quick. So when Cotto would step back to give Gomez some space he had to do something with himself and his confidence(well deserved in this situation) took the form of posturing and such. It would be difficult to carry a guy for a whole fight without showing any arrogance.

He's surveying the landscape. Cotto fights to break you down. He picks his shot and delivers. x2.... and btw cotto has been switching from regular to south paw in fights for quite some time now....thats not new. Also, I wouldnt consider him being "flashy" last night. He looked relaxed and was saving his energy for short spree's of punches. The whole backing off and bouncing around thing just looked like a cool, collected and calm fighter pacing himself to me......

what has started? but anywho I dont think it will be a custom of his to do this, I know he wont against margo.
