what does a win for both Gomez & Cintron do for not only boxing, but for the Welterweight division??
DIG IN....like the little man eating his cereal

If Gómez wins, we will never see Mayweather fight Cotto, then he will fight Gómez, win by UD, fight Hatton again, retire, and the boxing press will call him either the GOAT, or top 3 of all time. Then I throw up.
I won't comment on the Cintrón win because that fight is too close to call, in my opinion, and because Margarito should do exactly what Cintrón is doing, trying to avenge his loss (in Margarito's case, his losses).
And after this one, Cotto should go after Quintana again, or better yet, against Paul Williams. For some reason a Cintrón/Cotto fight doesn't interest me much.

Simply put, it makes Floyd appear even more to be the dominant welterweight in the world now. If Cintron were to win impressively enough he could be a viable future challenger to him.
definitely will screw up a bunch of things. don't see it happening at all but it would fuck up a bunch of things. and mayweather will be laughing it up
it would royally fuck everything up LOL
Yea, this I know. I was reading an interview with Arum (b-talk) and he basically sees these fights for Cotto and Marg. Although he did say, "if Cotto were to win..." and the same for Marg. I think Arum would be pulling out the little hair that he has left if Gomez and Cintron both win...it would throw a MONKEY WRENCH IN THE GAME!!!
If Cintron wins, it gives him more legitimacy and makes the WW division a little less crowded at the top. If Gomez wins, it makes him the new fan favorite in the WW division and stacks the division even more.
A win by Cintron would put him back on the path as a potentially legit superstar in our sport...I believe he is possibly the best p4p puncher in the sport and if he were to exercise the demons from his embarrassing loss to Tony Margarito then he would be back in the drivers seat so to speak.
A win for Gomez would first off be thrilling there is no doubt about it but also depressing as well. In this cult fans mind Cotto is a fighter (maybe the only one) that poses a serious threat to Floyd Mayweather in fact I believe such a threat that I would call the fight a U pickem...if Gomez were to dethrone Cotto it would squash that fight and probably more importantly empahtically say that I and many others were wrong about miguel Cotto.
I expect the contender star to put up a MUCH better fight then most think but in the end just like in Horse racing class tells and this is a simple case of class.
