We all know the boxing style brawler which some people think is just basically fighting and alot of people just think some brawlers are 1 dimensional.
Some people think being a brawler doesnt require any skill and basically trying to just knock the other guy out.
So what boxer have u seen that has a unique brawling style that isnt 1 dimensional?
I would have to say mike tyson he was a very intense fighter and his style was unique on its own.
Mike tyson was a brawler then became a in fighter thus becoming a hybrid boxer which i think is very remarkable.
Evander holyfield i rearly dont know how he could take so much tough shots he was like a pitbull taking punishment but giving it back 10 fold.
His style was unique because of what he could take and the combinations he could put together and also that he could carry his power from light heavywieght (as a amatuer olympian) To heavywieght and he wasnt that big for a heavywieght either.
Roberto duran has a unique style to he was unbeatable at lightwieght he was a very intense brawler/in fighter at lightwieght and was also a big puncher at that wieght with great pressure and he also change his style from being a brawler to a in fighter when he moved up in wieght but one thing he could never change was being a great fighter.
Marvin Hagler Was a great brawler/ in fighter he had a grainte chin and is without a doubt top 5 greatest middlewieght of all time that says it all.
It's not really known if that was Greb messing around with Jack O'Brian on the cameras on not, but if it was his actual fighting stance and he fought like that all the time...
Harry Greb by far.
http://coxscorner.tripod.com/greb.html
It's sad that there isn't any footage of his fights.
The old timers describe Greb as one of the fastest, toughest and most well-conditioned fighters ever.
I don't think there is any other film of Greb out there except these three from his training camp.
If Greb fought like he sparred/shadow boxed, then he was truly be one of the most unique fighters ever... You just never know because you can't watch him in action.
Gene Tunney was in my opinion one of the more intelligent and modern style of fighters back in the 1920's and Greb was the only one to beat him.
Tunney praised Greb's skills so he had to be pretty good, unique style or not.
Lmao :lol1:
yeah Duran was visious at going down stairs was'nt he ,i can remember Leonard sagging for a moment from a crunching body shot
i know Tommy Hearns was'nt a brawler but man he has a visious left hook to the body
Pedroza-Laporte is the biggest assault on a boxer's nuts this side of Bowe-Golota.
It wasn't limited to that though. Pedroza also launched a full-scale assault on Laporte's back, and his Laporte's cheek with his elbow.

Duran's uppercut to the body was vicious.
One of the best uppercuts to the body I've seen, along with Arguello's right uppercut to the body and Pedroza's right uppercut to the testicles.

yeah that is a great shout Duran had some very good Boxing ability IMO he was great at getting inside his oponents
a great move of Durans was to slip to inside his oponents jab and throw an uppercut follwed by a straight right down the pipe

Naseem Hamed.. was Unique
Unique brawler?
Does Naseem Hamed count?
This guy is magic! Hands down, arrogant as fuck, slick and wily, fast, accurate, and deadly shots. Definately can brawl too.
lol
I don't know what the hell kind of style to classify Hamed as, but it was certainly among the most unique ever.
I would have to say Joan Guzman. When he brawls, its in a skillful way and he doesn't take many big shots. He can out box his opponent but he chooses to brawl at points. Very unique

Mayorga and it's not close.
I don't think he has EVER thrown a jab in his life.
And I don't think he has EVER thrown a shot that is a "scoring punch". Every punch is a KO shot.
Insane.
I thought Mayorga did a decent job at boxing against Vargas.
Vargas however was as shot as a fighter can be and added like 20 lbs after the weigh-ins...
Perhaps Mayorga has changed his style a bit after the beatings he took from DLH and Trinidad.
Now compare Mayorga's fight with Vargas to this fight with Andrew Lewis.

Marvin Hagler was not a brawler. He was a versatile boxer-puncher who could brawl when necessary.
People should actually take the time to watch more of his fights.
