I raised this earlier in a different thread, but I thought I should make a seperate thread so every1 cld give an opinion on it. After Martin went down for the second time, the screen showed 10 seconds on the clock.
During the broadcast, I noticed that the round was allowed go on beyond 10 seconds.
Luckily I'd taped the fight for a relative, I just checked it there. I counted slowly from that point and I counted 13 at the very least. The important thing is the dane was still standing at the end of the 10 seconds.
The Bell sounded as soon as he was on the floor for the final team.
Anybody have any thoughts on this?
even after what the scottish fighter whos name escapes me done to him?
yeah that was bad, but he got reckless.
I might be wrong, wouldn't be the first. But he is just such a big fella.
Calzaghe got dropped by Salem, who is a bit of a shocker. Shit happens.
We'll have to wait and see I guess.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he is being stretchered out of the arena. lol
I would not be amazed at all.
The size disparity is so big, come fight time Khan would tower over Manny. It would be ridiculous.
I think Khan might be naturally bigger than me, and I'm 6'1 and about 11 and half stone.
Khan could put Manny on his shoulders and take him on a day trip to the zoo. Maybe buy him a 99 with a flake.
I know most of us strongly suspect Khan gets dizzy shaving. But I for one just look at the size of the cunt and think he must be able to take a decent shot of a lightweight.

You're gonna call me a loon for this, but I wouldn't actually be overly amazed if - no, hold on - Khan did Pac.
I'm not saying this stuff is LIKELY, I'm just saying that it's not beyond the realms of possibility. After all, the kid has made his career on fighting little guys... I still can't believe Roach is saying Pac will KO The Paler.

I still dont highly rate Pac, seriously, he still has a shit technique, but i'm telling you he would tear Khan into peices
They're good but not GREAT, right? I mean, Cassie has to be at the end of his career and Campbell blows hot and cold. I do agree with you, they would probably beat Khan (VERY probably) but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he could do the job. Very unlikely, but not impossible.
And yes, if there was a great champ at the reigns then he'd have no chance.
If Cassamayor and Campell fought as they did in they're last showings they have the beating of Khan. Wouldnt Khan v Pac be great, jesus he'd kill the kid!!
Am i the only one who picked up on the commentators saying 'Khan could very possibly become champion because the division is so weak, two 36 year old champions and a very beatable David Diaz', first of all they are all very very good fighters who would all fuck Khan up imo, what exactly were they implying? That Khan wouldnt have a chance against a young top flight fighter? If they were its the most sensible thing the stupid Frank Warren yes-men have ever said
Dude The Round was Over.... even if you are a Khan fan.. the round was over... Would it change the outcome?? NO.. but it is what it is..
Another undersized light hitting opponent for Khan.. another win...
what does it matter??
agreed, and i thought HBO was bad in 'over-promoting' certain fighters at times, itv sport is just as bad, if not worse..
Some people need to realise that the TV clock isn't the official one, and doesn't stop even when the ref calls time out.

I noticed.. but I figured since the bell handn't rang, that I misread the time..
what did It matter??.. Khan was in with another undersized feather fist.. there was only ever going to be one outcome..
Dont know what the shit head poster is on about. There was nothing wrong with the fight overall. The ref was on the ball and gave the Dane ample time to recover after Khan's illegal punch during the first knock down. In fact it was more than amle time. Overall, the Dane was all over the place and the stoppage was perfect. Vann is a legend of the boxing ring. This is the man who officiating was top notch during the Earl-Katsidis fight.
It was about 6 seconds. That's not ample time to recover if you take a punch to the head while ur on ur knees.
I wouldn't say 'overmatched hardcore'. He was a good opponent at this stage of Khans career. Martin did land a few good right hands and if he carried a little more pop would've been a bigger concern for Khan.
Khan now needs to go back into the gym 'cause there were a few good lessons to be learned in this fight.
He did well in spurts.
But he lost every round. So the fight was lost for him at the stage of the knockout.
He was clever enough. I don't want to sound disrespectful to the guy. I just think Khan needs his stellar test soon, considering he is so big at the weight.

Not this one though in fairness,
Krist just wanted to go home, have a hot chocolate and warm himself infront of the fire place.
He was overmatched hardcore.
Oh yeah man, I'm not disputing that for a second. I'm just picking on the officiating bias.
On another note, the late hits from Kahn. I think they were more a result of Kahn being so bothered by Martin's he was glad to have him down. The penalty was disgracefuk...because there was none. A point, or Vaan could have given Martin 30-60 secs to recover.
We all know what happened in Jones-Griffin.
Why would you subtract TKOs? There's this myth that if a guy isn't counted out it's a lesser victory.
yeah ssshtoopid.
David Haye a massive puncher would have like 4 KO's
Im sure there are millions of ridiculous examples.
You know whats worse than a KO, what Happend to Derry Matthews last nights.
Knocked down twice to the body, three times to the head, lol.

Amir Khan's opponents have an average ko quote around 5,5 if you subtract the tkos and the guys coming from lower weights you are probably around 2. If he has more than wet paper as a chin I would wonder.

Yeah exactly, it's nothing to do with Amir, Krist or the ref. It's just bothering that there's somebody who'd let the round go on a couple of extra seconds, because a guy looked like he was about to go down again. Fights are won and lost over being saved by the bell.
