Now, before anyone starts complaining about Eubank being 'nowhere near Hopkin's level', thats not really what this thread is about.
I was thinking about it and I see some parallels between these two fights, particularly in how I think that they are going to play out.
Both Hopkins and Eubank are skilled, wily and highly intelligent fighters. They both have chins so rock that I cant see Calzaghe finishing off Hopkins anymore than he did Eubank. Similarly, Eubank faced Calzaghe in the twilight of his career when his stock was fading, like Hopkins, however they both had enough left in their tank to be able to cause Calzaghe trouble.
I see a similar result in both. Calzaghe being the harder worker, his youth, speed and work-rate being the deciding factor in a wide unanimous decision to Calzaghe, but not without the slick wily counter-puncher rocking Calzaghe from time to time and causing him a bit of trouble.
With that said, I think that Calzaghe is by far a better fighter than he was against Eubank, so although I see him having to dig deep in this fight like he did in that, I dont see him being in as much trouble against Hopkins as he was against Eubank. I also tend to think that Eubank had a little more left in him than Hopkins does. I think that its fair to say that one way or the other, Hopkins knows that this is most likely his last fight.
Chris is the most awkward slickster I've ever seen... and deep down, somewhere inside of you, you know that he's the most awkward slickster the world has ever known in any sport. You know he has the widest nostrils, pound-for-pound, sport-for-sport, and the sickest skill.
Anybody can see you have a screw or two loose.
Eubank's beautiful, gorgeous balance on the back foot and scientific slickness beats the shit out of you, son.
this is a called Non Stop Boxing forum not Eubank /Benn Forum u whacko
im just sick to death of hearing u overate Eubank and constantly making threads about the same topic day in day out like i said change the fucking record :asshole:
He was also the most composed boxer, lb4lb, in history, (and) had the best physique, the largest jaw, the best chin, and the greatest style. There is only one Eubank.

Sneakers either we are all wrong or u are one hell of a blatent nuthugger cause there is more than one person saying u are biased or that Eubank was'nt as good as u think he was
Seriously, I think you're psychotic.
And what level is Hopkins on exactly? Where are the Watson's and Benn's on Hopkins's resume?
Trinidad and Hoya were blown-up welters. And Keith Holmes is hardly Lindell Holmes.

u are right i would nt have been able to hurt John Jarvis would i :lol1:
we are not comparing him to me anyway we are comparing him to Elite fighters like Hopkins u jackass
Collins counter puched Eubank effectively & outhuscled him end of story get over it Collins beat him by effective countering aswell not just workrate get over it
Calm down.
Malinga wasn't very good. All he ever did was cup his hands by his chin, move back and throw a jab and the occasional right. Benn couldn't get past his long jab either time, and lost both fights clearly, though was being held up in the second fight because his balance was shot to shit (unhealed scar tissue on the brain from McClellan fight).
Eubank made him look like a fool... though wasn't throwing a great deal. Jones was throwing a great deal, but Malinga wasn't playing ball and Jones had to resort to feints.
He was hand-picking his opponents, but he still had to beat them. You'd be knocked out cold in under 20 seconds by any of Eubank's hand-picked opponents.
Schommer did beat him, but not according to the judges, who had a better view than us. And I don't believe any fights are fixed.
Collins was letting Eubank lead with long, lazy singles/doubles and then jumping on him, basically. Collins was lunging in a lot, and scuffling. But for every punch Eubank threw, he found two back in his face.

Thulani Malinga? ;)
Malinga was OK man, he was a pretty strong guy. He got a split decision against Benn once and lost to him in their other fight. But overall, Benn = quality!
Eubank was a good champ you do have to be good to beat Benn but he never proved he was on Hopkins level, In his prime he was being outworked by Watson until getting that punch in. I think a prime Eubank would have done better against Joe but Imo Joe would still win.

Well, it looks like it, mate?
It took him 44-46 fights to lose, and even then his punches were clearly of a much higher quality than Collins's - was only beaten on workrate... and he'd made significantly more money than any boxer since 1990, so must have been doing something right
he was picking his oponents right thats for sure ,except for Collins ,Schommer or coarse when Eubank got handed a lesson in Boxing
Collins did'nt just outwork Eubank at all he was counter puching him very effectively aswell
