Grant it Oscar said he wouldn't fight a Puerto Rican :nonono: , but wouldn't this be a logical fight for Cotto to get ready for Floyd (obviously pending his next 2 victories) and a huge fight for Oscar to leave out on win or lose?

this is a hard one to call. I think DLH's defense is better than Mosley's and if Mosley can take Cotto's punches so can DLH. Both gas around the middle rounds and both have great left hooks. Cotto has a better right-cross, but I think DLH has the better jab. I think Cotto edges this one by another close decision, but I wouldn't count DLH out.
Stopped once by a body shot...Tell me now, who has Oscar fought that is a better body puncher than Cotto?
A body shot from Bernard Hopkins at 160 is much greater than a body shot from Cotto. Bernard was big enough to stand in front of Oscar and not get hurt, Cotto would stand there and get his head knocked off Mayorga style. Cotto is too small to hurt Oscar and Cotto is too easy to hit.., Cotto is not a power puncher no matter how you put it, his shots add up but to do that hed have to be willing to stand there and take whats coming back at him and Oscar is no Paulie Malanaggi. Cotto has steered away from power punchers for a reason, as well, if it wasnt for some low blows Zab wouldve knocked him out.
Cotto by ko, it won't be a sparring session like the Floyd fight.
Oscar has been stopped once and it was by maybe the greatest middleweight in recent history, and you think a guy coming up from 140 is going to KO Oscar? Oscar has been in there with punchers like Trinidad, Vargas, Mayorga, hell the list can go on forever and Cotto is going to do something they couldnt? Cotto doesnt even have KO power. Cotto could maybe wear down his body as Oscar is getting older, but to do that he would have to stand in front of the biggest puncher he has ever faced and a much bigger man, and with the chin he has I really dont see Cotto making it through six.
cotto wll win,i think delahoya just said that he wont fight a puerto rican so he don't have to fight cotto.no matter what people say cotto is on top h figts anyone u put in frnt of him and still didn't lose,i believe mayweater is the only on to have a chance, but i believe cotto is the only one to have the chance to beat mayweather.
Cotto by decision, Mosley right now still has more left in the tank than DLH IMO and even though he showed great skills against Cotto, he lost.
The main factor if this fight would materialize is DLH's stamina, Cotto applies consistent and effective pressure to the body and will wear down DLH, maybe to an extent in which he will be able to KO him but I wouldn't go that far. We haven't seen Cotto @ 154 so I think statements about Oscar being better at that weight are a bit premature, Cotto has carried his power to 147 and is likely to do be just as effective @ 154.
I'd say Cotto at 147 or 154, DLH just doesn't have it anymore, and hasn't for some time now. I'll go with decision though, DLH has a pretty awsome beard, and knows how to survive when hurt, unless Cotto can catch him with a fierce body shot like Hopkins did.
i will go with oscar all the way,
ring experience is a factor,
remember oscar has better boxing skills than cotto a great jab and he will finally land that left hook and that will be lights out for cotto
Cotto by late stoppage or UD. ODLH is softer than he was in his hay day. Oscar back in the days would have been a difficult fight and I would have probably favored him over Cotto but now I have to run with Cotto. Oscar of today is much like Mosley of today a shell of what they used to be and Cotto just cracked Mosley's shell and would do the same to ODLH. Nope the only fight that makes sense at this point is Cotto V Mayweather...IMO.
