Who do you consider the best finishers in the sport?
Alot of guys have been labeled "good finishers."
Who actually deserves that title? I've seen alot of guys panic and blow the opportunity to finish an opponent.. Waaay to often.
True, the other side of finishing you could say. Something goes off in oscar when he see's a guy hurt. Even if he's dead tired, he just goes off like a shark smelling blood.
That's one of the things I've admired about him as a fighter.
I agree as well. Oscar's got this killer instinct needed :fing02:
Yeah in some other ways, DLH and Calzaghe could be options also.
They both throw fast flurries when someone is hurt..........and I'd say both are always dangerous if they do in fact hurt someone, lol.
I mean Calzaghe has really fast hands...........and if he notices someone is hurt he turns up the pressure. He's definitely a solid type finisher.

Some Robinson finishes:
Robinson vs Turpin
Robinson vs Graziano
McCallum's fight against Julian Jackson was a top finish as well.
:banana::banana:
Missed you, baby
I just love watching the way Kelly pavlik finishes guy, Its like a beatiful work of art..he doesnt get all excited, He just takes his time and just goes to work..So yeah it Pavlik for me.
Not only does De La Hoya have a better KO percentage than Joe Calzaghe and Antonio Margarito, but he's managed to stop 30 of his 38 opponents with "one arm." He doesn't hit like Pavlik, Haye, or Pacquiao but he knows how to take guys the fuck out. :fing02: I got De La Hoya for this one.
Some Robinson finishes:
Robinson vs Turpin
Robinson vs Graziano
Robinson vs Lamotta
Robinson vs Stock
Pavlik is a top finisher today but he lacks the body punching that makes a great finisher. Taylor escaped Pavlik in the rematch by keeping his hands up and staying off the ropes.
Pavlik can easily improve that aspect of his game though. I wouldn't compare him to the great finishers just yet.
"The Bodysnatcher" Mike McCallum vs Watson.
An old McCallum at LHW.
McCallum's fight against Julian Jackson was a top finish as well.
If he didn't get hurt by the left hook combo at the begining of the round, there is no way that lost combo hurt him. Jake was simply trying to grab on, and stumbled forward in exhaustion.
If you notices, Jake barely even moved around the whole round.
He was exhausted, I don't dispute that.
But if ever a mofokker was hurt, LaMotta was...
It's difficult to argue variations of color with a blind man.
You are not watching the same ending as I'm watching right now...
Dude was hurt.

I do not agree. He was stumbling like that towards the end of the previous round, and it was clearly from exhaustion. The same reason he stopped punching, he didn't have anything left in the tank.
Keep in mind, neither did Ray. Ray didn't have much power left on his punches. LaMotta even joked about this later.
He was stumbling because he was hurt, La Motta had fought to 15 round decisions before and never had stamina problems. It doesn't make sense that he'd have nothing left in the tank after 12 rounds, he was badly hurt by Robinson and only his heart and guts were keeping him up.

So the punches he took to the head right before him stumbling didn't affect him too badly. He was badly hurt and was holding onto the ropes to keep himself up.

No, he was tired. Reminds me of Mollo vs Golota where Mollo was stumbling around the ring from exhaustion.

I suggest you watch that ending again. It is not nearly as climactic as people remember. Raging Bull really fucked up peoples memory of that fight. Jake basically didn't throw a punch for 2 rounds, and Ray just hit him again and again and again and when it was obvious that Jake wasn't going anywhere and that Jake wasn't about to start throwing punches any time soon, the ref stopped the fight.

LaMotta was hurt, nearly toppling over.
One or two more punches, Jake would have been asleep.
So you didn't see La Motta stumbling into Robinson and then stumbling back to the ropes. You're right, he wasn't hurt.

You're talking vodoo again :scared:
