well obviously... but for years after floyd fought him, floyd continued to say it was his hardest fight... I was just implying that you cant judge a fighter as not being good, just because he has losses.... and anyone that followed his career knows he should have won a lot of his fights. And has been in multiple FOTY...
Augustus is the exception, not the rule.
AND THEN LOSE.....:tapedshut

Good post and I agree... but lets look at Emanuel Augustus... this guy is 36-29-6 (19) .... 29 losses... but can still give anyone a run for there money
I agree, Emanuel Augustus catches people by surprise. However, Mayweather's resume is not filled with Emanuel Augustus type fighter.
No, but fighting very good undefeated fighters is better than fighting very good defeated fighter.
Defeated fighters, by definition, already have a game plan in place to beat them.
And many names on Floyd's resume are over-rated, particularly Castillo and Corrales, thanks in part to their war with each other.

I just thought of a good analogy. It's like mountain climbing. Climbing Everest is a great achievement, its just not as great an achievement as being the FIRST to climb Everest.
Same mountain, but its already been done.
Apperently if you have a loss on your record...you suck.

Miguel Cotto, because he has fought 5 undefeated fighters compared to only 2 for Mayweather.
Carlos Maussa 17-0
Kelson Pinto 21-0
Ricardo Torres 28-0
Paulie Malignaggi 21-0
Carlos Quintana 23-0
Mayweather has only fought 2 undefeated fighters in his whole career.
Diego Corrales
Ricky Hatton
Hatton BARELY squeezed by Collazo..whats your point.
NObody oN haTTOns list beats PW...or Quitana..too small TOO OLD!! :cop:
Oh god... You're just asking for it.
OK explain to me how
Mosley
Judah
Urkal
Quintana
Malignaggi
Torres
is better than
Hatton
DLH
Baldomir
Judah
Mitchell
Gatti
Castillo (x2)
N'dou
CorralesQUOTE]
THE bolded were all undefeated and went on to win titles....
You forgot to bold Hatton. :fing02:
a win over Julio and PW DOES CUT it,, CLEAR WINS AS A MATTER OF FACT..
ITS CUTS IT MORE THEN ALMOST GETTING YOUR HEAD TAKEN OFF BY COLLAZO.....LMAO!!!
Joel Julio who barely squeezed by Rivera? Give me a break.
Wins over:
Joel Julio
Paul Williams
is better than wins over:
Tsyzu
Collazo
Castillo
Phillips
OK explain to me how

Judah
Urkal
Quintana
Malignaggi
Torres
is better than
Hatton
DLH
Baldomir

Gatti

I voted for Cotto as a protest vote of the poll...
Hatton could BARELY surive against Collazo, yet you say he beats Quintana..lol
bALDO > OVER ANYONE is a joke!!
Mosley > Dela TWICE!!
And who the has Quintana beaten that all of a sudden makes him so established? Sorry a win over Paul Williams doesn't quite cut it.
Do I need to start a poll? Who has the better resume, Hatton or Quintana?
Also, most people thought Oscar won the rematch, and both fights were very close. To use that as an anchor to claim that Cotto's win over Mosley is better than Floyd's win over Oscar is complete and utter bullshit, considering it was Floyd's 5th weightclass, and Cotto's 2nd.
Baldomir was the lineal champion with wins over Gatti and Judah. What has Urkal accomplished? Here I'll be nice and answer this one for you to save the embarrassment: A lot less than Baldomir.
Yeah, you're one of the sane ones who thought Oscar won the first fight, yet criticize Floyd for taking a rematch. :fing02:
because there was no demand for the rematch, no one besides Manny Steward, Floyd Mayweather Sr., Tom Kacsmarek(sp?), myself, and the lurkers who send me pm's in agreement every time I make that claim thought it was a robbery, and it was clear that Floyd could have beaten Oscar badly in that fight if he had the balls to do it.
cmonmang is an ANTI-floyd nuthugger. Yes, I am one of the few sane ones.

But Hatton is a name.
Man I though it was you Americans who were all about names.
