"O shyte Vera SUCKS Lee lost to a fucking bum!!" "Oh shyte Lee would get killd by Pavlik, now let my go sleep with mma cuzzin."
Fuck man, this is ridiculous. Our OWN fans write fighters off after 1 loss. 1 loss like these men should be godly and that "0" should never have a blemish on it. Andy Lee is STILL a top prospect that has some flaws he will definitely work on. A loss early is much better than a loss late and he will learn from this and be a better fighter. EVERYONE loses and just because you have a loss doesn't mean you are a bum and you suck. So learn the fucking sport or go watch golf or something, you are the fans I can't stand.
An honest referee would have stopped the fight after the knock down in the first round or after the numerous power shots that Lee landed the next several rounds. Vera gets knocked down and hurt, but is giving a chance to continue. Lee was hit with a couple of shots and the referee stops the fight after Lee lands a solid shot back... That's a totally biased referee.
Lee dropped Vera, but it wasn't a resounding knockdown where Vera gets up wobbly. Plus it was at the end of the round, so a ref could give the fighter benefit of it being early in a fight.
When Lee was landing shots, he wasn't doing so in a sustained fashion. It was usually 1-2 punches that landed clean, but never seriously rocked Vera to the point of going down.
Lee on the other hand was the one being hit with unanswered shots and was being rocked consistently. If you don't fight back, you get stopped.
American judges are biased against non-American fighters, regardless of where their ancestors are from.
Are you serious? You might be one of the stupidest people to grace this board if you actually think that.
A biased referee would've stopped that fight 5-6 punches earlier. Let's not go there with conspiracy theories when there are enough legitimate black eyes to tend to.
Lee is still learning how to be a pro fighter. He had never previously been asked to go at such a pace for as long as he had to. Getting hit didn't help him much either. He was too cocky going in and was expecting an easy night, probably influenced by what Jaidon Codrington was able to do to Vera.
This is the difference between a guy who has been in tough fights and one who hadn't, and the more grizzled fighter getting the fight he wanted.

Idk, how biased the ref was the damn ref had red hair didn't he? Aren't most red hair ppl usually have blood that comes from scotland or ireland? If anything shouldn't he have been biased for lee?

skills is just on his period because he thought andy lee was going to be the person to beat kelly pavlik. And he got :owned: and now he is crying about ppl picking on lee. HAHAHAHAAHA, what a big baby
Lee will definitely be back. Lee showed he has the tools to be a top ranked MW, unfortunately he fought with a biased or bought referee last night.
Lee is only 23 and has plenty of time to work on the weaknesses he showed last night. Mainly inside fighting and tying up.

Cobrita I dont have a problem with Andy Lee. Its just that a lot of posters were comparing him with the likes of Arthur Abraham and Kelly Pavlik when he was still to young and inexperienced. He needs to build up to fight these boxers not fight 16 bums and call out for Pavlik.
I said the same thing when Williams Lose...
Why was PW being written of after only 1 defeat?
Why was Carlos Quintana written off after only one defeat?
And why hasnt Margarito been Written off after 5 defeats..?
Thats the difference between mma and boxing, mma gives their fighters a chance and a shot at redemption...there fanbase is more loyal and less critical...PW will be back, and Carlos Quintana has came back and I dont know about Lee but at least give he a chance….
come on people...

I'm gonna go ahead and write Lee off since he was a nobody before this fight and now he lost lol

I'll definitely co-sign on that.
Yeah there were times he was trading with him and I was wondering why, because I felt that was Vera's only chance. Plus I would have liked to see Lee throw more combos. He was drilling Vera with that left, but then wouldn't follow up on it. I think if he would have followed up on it he could have gotten Vera out of there. Another thing I noticed is that Andy didn't go to the body very often. In other fights I've seen of his he's gone to the body pretty decently. I think and hope Andy will come back from this.
It was definitely a case of Lee getting overly confident. He didn't feel like he had to really work the guy. Not to take anything away from Vera- he fought such a determined fight.
Lee had the macho complex... I saw trouble when he opted to stand in and trade with Vera after getting clocked in the early rounds. I think this loss will help him to throw some of that pride out the window, and just box smart.

he'll be back it seemed he was being a little cocky at first especially in round 3?? i think it was when him and vera were trading...he needs to train harder and fix his inside game. i think he could still beat brian vera, if they were to ever fight again which i think they should so lee could vindicate himself...i still think lee could be a champ one day down the line in like 2 years or something he still pretty young and does have talent so i dont think he should be written off.
Let's hope Lee learns from this. He understands now that even though he may land his best shots there are some guys that can take that and then deliver some of their own. Im definitely not writing Lee off just yet. We'll found out how he responds after this.
