its reported that hatton will take on juan lazcano and on the undercard malignaggi will be fightin n'dou again and if both hatton and malignaggi win it will set up a fight between them2....read this link http://www.skysports.com/boxing/0,19521,11067,00.html
wot i want to kno is wots so special about malignaggi...living in england we havnt seen much of his fights...i did see the fight against n'dou and wasnt really impressed...is this a walk in the park for hatton or should he be more concerned??
There is nothing special about Paulie except from his Heart which he display against Cotto, He fought Cotto at cotto's game took a beating and gave back as good as he got from Cotto.
If Hatton bumrush him then he can Knock him out early if not Hatton would probably struggle to a 12 round UD.
he also has a style that makes you look stupid if you try to brawl him and dont get it twisted paulie may hit like a powerpuff girl but he will use your momentum on some brazilian juijitsu shit and make your strength your weakness i wish hatton would come in against malignaggi like he did with mayweather there would be a check hook pt 2 and malignaggi is much more slick than mayweather is
I agree with all of that except his chin. While its not bad i have a question mark on it, yes he lasted 12 roun dwith (a weight drained) Cotto but Herman N'whatver-it-was ricked the hell outta him in the seventh round and Herman didnt have the record of a big puncher. But i do think the fight with Hatton would at least last 9 rounds and probably go the distance.
You have to remember herman ngoudo was underrated he was 16 and 1 and his only loss was a contreverisal loss to JOSE LUIS CASTILLO that he actually won and even though he got rocked paulie still pulled it out and clearly won the fight but it could of been alot closer than the score cards suggested
footwork and heart plus hiis hitman style man if u can take a beating from cotto for 12 rounds then u got alot of heart i never seen a fighters face so swollen before.
Malignaggi's a tough dude, he can move, and, outside the ring, he seems like a pretty likeable guy. He looked great against Lovemore Ndou; average against the last guy he fought. He'll give Hatton problems, but Hatton at his best beats Malignaggi at his best.
You weren't impressed during the N'Dou fight? Paulie boxed his ears off and knocked him down once. A shutout doesn't impress you? Jeez...
I do agree on the whole Growing Up Gotti look though. It doesn't jive with boxing in my opinion.
if im totally honest mate i didnt think the fight was a complete shut out...and no i wasnt exactly impressed with malignaggi... a lot of people on this thread said hatton seemed to get tired against collazo and mayweather...could that be due to the fact he had to move up weight to make those fights?? its clear to see he can't cut it as a WW. in my opinion i blieve hatton has more then enough to beat malignaggi if he fights the same way he did in his last fight...
witter would pose a threat in his style...bt i think hatton may just might scrape a win against him...rumours of a rematch with flloyd or fightin oscar sound stupid and it seems hatton is turning to the £s
i just wanted to know wot the fuss is regarding paulie...clearly a decent boxer but nothing special???

yeah thats paulies only problem, his punching power. He doesn't have enough power behind any of his punches to do any damage, but his hand speed makes up for some of it, hes got that tommy hearns hitman style which I really like and good footwork.
Yer Paulie could be a really good fighter if he didnt punch like a girl. He's pretty good in every other department. Good speed, footwork, timing, heart and chin. No way on earth could he keep Hatton off him for 12 full rounds though and i think if this fight happens Malignaggi takes a worse beating than he did against Cotto.
Against Urange he had bad stamina, Castillo fight was too short and against Collazo it could have been better. I think it will be a close fight going the distance, I tend to Paullie.
With Urango, he didn't have bad stamina IMO, he was boxing really well until he got hit with a big body shot and then reverted to his mauling style, I think his stamina at 140 is OK. At 147, the extra weight could be the difference, but we'll see when he gets dragged into the later rounds.

That was a flush shot though, I think anybody would've gotten a bit shook up by that shot. I think his chin is good, nothing special, but good enough to take a few flush shots and come back with some of his own.
Hatton has good stamina, he started to fade a bit against Mayweather which could mean his bad habits outside of the ring is catching up with him, it'll be interesting to see what he has in his comeback fight because earlier in his career, he could throw 70 punches a round for 12 rounds and not get tired, not sure if that's the case now.

He also used to use boxing abilty, jabs...gettinin an out working to the body and head. After Tszyu he jusrushed in and started hitting and holding all the time.

Your probably right mate, His binge drinking and eating is definitely catching up with him..you only have to look at his past few fights to see that he fades away from about the 7th round of a fight but believe me he'll have all that sorted against Lazcano, the Manchester crowd will spur him on to a world class performance
Malignaggi would give Hatton some problems because of his slick style but he doesn't have the power to keep Hatton off him. Malignaggi has above average handspeed, his footwork is good, good chin, very good heart but he couldn't hurt a fly.
