You are playing Fight Night Round 3 in career mode, and it randomly draws up a name of one of your opponents that is the name of a real fighter?
I was playing my career as Winky Wright (still at middleweight) and I won a fight with a 4th round KO to get a special contract or whatever.
My opponent was none other than: JULIO DIAZ!
He was a Mexican dude with white tiger trunks and a giant gray mohawk. :)
What names has it made up for everyone else that you can remember?
I hate career mode.
The only fun you can have is playing a friend and shortening the rounds to a minute, and try and steal rounds in a tactical chess match.
I won a 12 rounder against my mate and I landed just 17 jabs.
The carreer mode sucks! I played it one time and jumped online.... and never looked back. Its so much more competitive! The peaple on there are really good and some suck but its great knowing that your fighting some one real that has skill and knows how to play. It makes the fights intense, espeacially when the opponent is talking sh*t to you over the Mic! And you get to beat there ass and put there foot in there mouth... Ahg man its great!
Fight Night round 3 was way too easy. its easy as hell to knock out Ali with Pacquiao.
whats hard is trying to fight exactly how Winky Wright really fights and actually win. its almost impossible to keep your opponents punch output down, and yet at the same time they never get tired. just wonderful. Winky is slow as hell too, and the dumb parry system makes it so that one parried jab of Winkys wins you a 15 punch combo from Jermain Taylor. its really crappy.
the hardest one was FN 2004. I just couldnt knock out Ali with Rafa Marquez. I could drop him twice, maybe three times, but the son of a bitch was impossible to KO. then I would get irritated at that and throw caution to the wind, and hed end up KOing me in the last round. knocking out someone like Joe Frazier with Rafa was really easy though, hes wide open most the time.

I only get Giddy when i toke the high grade but yeh i hear what ur sayin! lol
Its rare it happens that but it does happen.
I've killed that game to death cant wait for 4
By the way... doing a featherweight career with Erik Morales... and just drew this guy for my next fight:
Corey Sanders
Yeah, the same name as the T-Rex who KO'd Maskaev in a huge upset and got his ass kicked in that exhibition by Tyson.
This dude looks pretty stock like the real Corey Sanders, but he has the pulled back dreads, so... kind of, but not exactly like him.
I might have to try this Winky Wright thing, thanks for the tip Dwiens. I'd love an actual challenge.
On a related note. I've heard fight night round 2 is better than 3, but I skipped 2 actually. I went from the first to the third, can anyone tell me what, if anything is better in round 2?
Also, anyone play those "Victorious boxer" games? I heard 2 was the shit but can't seem to get my hands on it. I saw it once at Gamestop, before I heard of it and just skipped right over it.
I dont ever bother about the money, I don't buy any gear to upgrade or for training I just go basic and aout-train. It makes the game a little fairer. But as you know, its so easy to KO everybody, IM sure you have about kayoed everyone with Winky, and that is comlpetely unrealistic (all respect due to Winky)
I find it fun to make it as close as possible to the actual base fighter in the game.
I have all of Winky's regular gear. His style, punches, etc.
The only thing that bugs me is you can't select different signature punches for head and body!
God it is hard to box with Winky though. His punches are slow.
That's another thing I hated, the "rival". I KO'd him the first time, and he wants a rematch, so I KO him again in the rematch, he wants another. This process repeated until I finally had a record of 6-0 (6KO's) against him and he decided to lay off me.
It was awesome to have a rival at first but ultimately I grew tired of ringing the poor prick's bell.
No shit... Fucking hell, why does this bastard I have KO'd 5 times have a belt in the division before me? He has like 10 losses and I am undefeated! HOW IN THE FUCK IS THIS DOUCHEBAG GETTING A TITLE SHOT BEFORE ME?!?
Also, anyone who wants a challenge, play with Winky Wright with his upright base style and hard straights punching style... it is fucking difficult. I am having some trouble. I am 40-0 (39 KOs), but I just came out of a life and death fight. It really forces you to box and move, and makes the game a challenge for sure.
You don't win a decision in your early career when it offers you an extra $15,000 on top of the $23,000 that you get from the fight in the first place?
I always do, so I am always down 1 KO from my win total.

It gets significantly harder as you progress in your career. When you start the endless repetitive cycle of fighting your rivals over and over, then it starts happening.

How many fights do you have to get to to see a press conference? Ive only got to like my 19th fight on career mode and quit cuz its boring and easy, I only play online.

Which is a total bitch move. I mean, the dude throws at you and you're watching his face contort in anger and he's unloading and the best thing you offer is to slap his glove away and they break it up.
You seriously haven't had the weigh-in press conference brawl on FNF 3 yet? I play it on x-box. It honestly is rediculous. And really I haven't ever gone to the scorecards. All my careers ended up 50-0 with 50kos. Or something like that. I'm not bragging, its just the game is too easy. I want it to be hard, I want to get KTFO, it makes for some kind of suspense. I play the game to unwind from work when I dont feel like thining at all.

I dominated as James Toney in career mode. I am good at counter punching and boxing and moving around the ring. I lose every press conference brawl that im in because i don't understand that part.

would'nt say "giddy" per say but laughed my ass off when I say my next opponent was "Fidel Castro" looked nothing like the man but funny none the less.
Holy shit, that is funny.

Hasn't happened to me but I don't play as much as I once did. I only went through career once, started out a Middleweight and ended up at Heavyweight in my 40's. From there it was all downhill, my character's reflexes sucked shit because of age and weight, his punches lacked power, and I seemed to get exhausted after a 3 punch combo.
I finally quit the game because I couldn't make it past this big fat black dude with a green mowhawk and blonde mustache, the dude his like a ton of bricks.
Anyway, when I quit the game I found out my completion percentage was 98%.
I stay pissed to this day.
