Haye lost to Wlad and made excuses about his toe hurting and he got stopped by Bellew twice. He also lost to Carl. David Haye is a B level fighter that would get flattened by Louis on his worst day.
Move on trolling you crazy slow pretend to be blind person everything I said is fact so move on cause that dumb quote of loses has nothing to do with what I said you idiot
I said skills and movement learn how to read or get glasses you crazy slow person
Well wlad/tony/enzo/john/carl/Jean/saber on the level of being stiff and basic no unlike joe
All these great fighters would destroy his era 1-2 rounds max only goes 2 cause of the needing to get in rhythm
Did joe fought these fighters no nothing like these guys
way above the level of Joe and the trash he fought yes dumb question you shouldn't have asked

:smashfrea Who has Haye beat that's on the level of Joe Louis?

Joe never fought anybody who punched as fast from as many angles as this man he would be destroyed
only crazy idiots said joe its obvious they are crazy
Dumb quotes like joe koed big men never makes sense to use cause none of those dudes moved good so the quote means nothing
anybody with some skill could make people who were trash skilled and moved bad make them look bad its nothing to brag on
You're a pure moron if you believe that. This is getting so stupid already. There's too many WWE fans here now, thanks to Floyd.
sorry, I have to post things in order to keep up with the other stupid threads out there.
If you can't beat 'em join 'em.
Joe Louis was 6'2" (some say he was taller), 205-215 lbs and his biggest opponents Abe Simon, Primo Carnera and Buddy Baer were all over 6'5", 250 lbs.
Plus the big fat guy...Tony Galento..like 300 pounds or something lol
Haye wins by KO and decision at the same time.
He is unbeatable, I think he would KO prime Ali in a round and maybe even compete with the great Tye "The Beast" Fields.
thats blasphemy !!!!!!!!!!!!!! .....................tye fields is a god
But come on fellas, some of you are getting a taste of your own medicine here. I'm talking about the Klitschko hardcore brigade. Some of that nonsense I've heard is no better than the Haye talk.
Shit, I'm amazed.
Haye punches harder than Foreman and Frazier combined, dogde punches like a prime Tyson, is faster than Ali, tougher than Marciano, more skilled than Louis, smarter than Tye Fields and age better than Archie Moore.
He also puts together meaner combinations than RJJ, SRL and SRR combined.
Faster.
With better vision.
With more movement.
Shit, Haye can just retire now before he kills someone.
Lmfao!!! many people miss these subtle factsabout david haye haha
he also got dropped by much lesser fighters-punchers....
i certainly dont think the thread is stupid because of louis' left low hand issue and his questionable chin...the same can be said of haye obviously....but this is not a mismatch at all...
Haye has won 20 fights and was KO'd by a 40+ y/o cruiserweight. Comparing him (at least at this point) to one of the greatest fighters who ever lived is absurd.
Max Baer was known as a wild brawler with great power in his right hand, similar to someone like Sam Peter or Hasim Rahman these days.
Not much boxing skills but very strong, tough and powerful and not afraid to foul other fighters..
If I showed people vid's of Ricardo Mayorga, Ponce De Leon and Sam Peter I'm sure they would think that boxing has no skill involved.
Louis had trouble with the best boxers he fought, not the brawlers. Those he dispatched quite easily.
Max Schmeling, Jack Sharkey, Billy Conn, Jersey Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles were all capable boxers.
If you're not impressed by Louis' skills, it's alright but when a trainer like Freddie Roach says that Louis is the most textbook boxer he ever saw, that means something.
Here comes 1 000 001. :)
Louis had skill, I never questioned that.
Rahman/Sam Peter KO 1 Max Baer
most defense in boxing is luring people in, most punching in boxing are counters....sure joe did it at a high level, but i would expect that from a world class fighter....which he certainly was he was a legend at his time...that doesnt mean i have to find "the video showing joe louis doing baasic defense" impressive....it is overblown...im not taking ashot at joe louis
You don't have to find it impressive at all.
But it is impressive nonetheless. It is probably a thing guys like Freddie Roach and the like find way more impressive than you and me.
Why? Because it's all in the finer details that the common man just cannot see.
I used to think the old-timers sucked. That changed as I watched more and more boxing and became a better and better fighter.
The difference between moving one inch out of the way of a punch and three inches is quite significant.
Haye has actually the same kind of talent, he moves just this little bit out of the way and then BAM!!
He is mighty impressive in doing that stuff.
But he is unproven in the heavyweight division and thus should not get to be compared to the great heavy's of the past.
But that is MY opinion.

It's not supposed to impress people who already know their boxing but some people in this forum have said that the 'old school' fighters lack even the basics...
:nonono:
This video was made for those people.
No, not at all. Haye could win a fight if a fight between them were possible.
But it is disrespectful to compare Haye to one of the greatest heavy's in the history before Haye has even campaigned in the division.
I would favour today's soccer teams against the best from the 50's if they were to actually meet.
But it is a disservice to the sport to diminish the past greats who did everything humanly possible to be remembered by claiming a non-proven heavyweight would beat them.
well haye has had one fight at heavy....and he is roughly joe louis' size...
i find it useless to compare fighters of different eras.....but i have a problem with people thinking because someone's great means he is untouchable...that was my rant in this thread sorry for coming about as a louis hater....:D
The difference between a master and a student lies in the small, subtle movements.
That video actually showed the ice-cold mind of Louis as he barely steps back, sideways and slips punches before countering.
Most fighters are able to duck, bob and weave away from punches from time to time.
Only true masters do so with millimeter precision which keeps them in position to counter every single time.
Recent years, Kostya Tszyu is the best example I have seen of this.
Bigger moves looks more flashy, but flashy does not mean it's more effective.
