When I first heard this rematch was taking place, I figured Manny would just streamroll right over Marquez. Hes gotten more well rounded in the past few years and I thought it would be enough to overtake Juan Manuel, especially after Marquez was dropped by Barrera. At this stage of his career it would seem that he might be going on adownslide, but hes never really been known for engaging in wars like Barrera or Morales. Pacquiao imo, might be sliding a bit too. After seeing the pics, Manny does look a bit weight drained whereas Juan looks to be carrying his weight more comfortably. Its going to be a very close fight I think and if Marquez can box at his pace and not get dragged into a war, he can win a decision while touching the canvas at least once. If he does get out of his element and trade at will, hes going to get KOd. I think Marquez because of what he feels hes representing, Mexico and its boxing heritage, will fall into that trap.
Pacquiao KO 9.

He looks like one of those pictures you see in medical text books where the skin stripped and only muscles showing.Manny looks like he hasn't eaten anything for a year. Tomorrow(tonight for peeps from your place) he will bulk up 10 to 14 lbs and he will look bigger than juan manuel.

Hmm...You know...Now that I'm looking at these photos...I'm 2nd guessing myself. Pac actually is looking small and somewhat emaciated...Though that could be because his body is 99.9% fat free

I think that Marquez prevails in this fight by tight unanimous decision. Take away the 3 knock downs in the first fight, and Marquez beats him by 3 points. I know Pacquaio has shown improvement but he still has that same style and Marquez has the ability to adjust. Honestly, i can't see a difference in Pacquaio. I see Marquez exchanging at points, picking his spots, and out boxing Pacquaio. Marquez by tight unanimous.
I'd be surprised if JMM won. Not shocked...But somewhat surprised. If the fight happened within a year or 2 of the first fight, I might agree with you. If Pac hadn't been fighting at 130 the last 3 years I might agree with you (Marquez has only had 2 fights at 130 against older fading fighters).
Pac is bigger, stronger, has a better chin and has improved since their first fight. JMM is an amazing counter puncher, but unfortunetly...That's all he has going for him. He's also bit older now. Slowing down just enough to make this a relatively easy pick for a Pac win.

imho as what we have seen what happened this last four years, if they had this rematch instead of pac-em 1, jmm could probably have been A superstar ...
but four years is a long time ago ... pac by late rounds ko/tko
Marquez by split decision. I dont think Pac is as fresh as he was at 126 regardless of what they say, and I think that's more important than the small inprovements he's made to his attack.
A trilogy would suck. Pac has been wasting his prime fighting the same three guys. We'll never know how he would have done against a much better boxer in Guzman or a reckless power puncher like Valero.
Pac was coming up from 122 to fight at 126 in their first fight. Now this time around Pac is the bigger man. And in more prime. Pac has added to his game while if anything, Marquez's change to his technique will fall right into Pac's hands. I think this is going to be close, but not so close as people think.
Pac by UD or by TKO in rounds 7-9
I cant make a call on this one, Pac was stronger in the beginngin of their first fight but Marquez proved his toughness so its too close to call for me.
If Pac can stun Mar early with his power and swarm him I wouldnt be suprised though if it was a 1 rounder.

I wouldn’t pick Marquez merely on the last fight, it was 5 years ago. Since then Pacman has added a lot to his game while keeping his force of nature aura about him, JMM has merely gotten slower and older.
If they fought 6 months after the first fight I would put my house down on JMM, now I’m not very confident in his ability to fend off Pacs rapid-fire shots.
I think that Marquez is a little bit overrated just because he is the last of those three really skilled Mexicans...Barrera, Morales and Marquez, of course. I mean, Barrera and Morales both at their best around 10-8 years ago, when they were both ruling at Super Bantamweight and made multiple title defences there, and both took a big chunk out of their career when they fought each other.
Marquez has been around nearly as long and not been in as many hard fights, and has only been winning titles for 4 years(which is still excellent haha, but just not nearly as amazing as Barrera and Morales, whose primes had already passed by the time Marquez started taking over featherweight)
Marquez had a very hard time with an older Barrera, who was a very skilled boxer puncher still, definately, but he had trouble with guys like Juarez not long before and his punch power and stamina had gone way way down since his earlier years.
Marquez has also slowed down himself a little...not as quick imo, and has become a bit too much of an offensive fighter to work fantastically as he did in the first Pacquiao fight.
Ill go with Pacquiao by Decision. should be a very fun fight!
I know for sure JMM won't be schooling PAC, but I see this as a very close fight and I would favor PAC by UD He's improved his defense and since then has added more arsenal to his offensive attacks, he's learned how to create angle and find open shots instead of coming straight forward. JMM is still JMM, a good fighter, but to me, remained the same since the first encounter against PAC.
although I agree that JMM came back strong after the first round, but I feel people are overreacting when they say JMM schooled Pac after the first round just because PAC did not knock JMM down or dominated him like he did in the first round, but PAC was definitely winning some of the later rounds.
PAC by UD, However I wouldn't be surprise if JMM won. I see this a very close fight.
