im biased so you know im going to say brooklyn we've produced mike tyson, zab judah, floyd patterson, riddick bowe, paulie malignaggi, mark breland, sechew powell and the list goes on but i might have to say philly and detroit are up there with us
lets hear your thoughts....
NY will still produce many fighters in the future because its a large city. Brooklyn will never be what it once was since the rich Manhattan people are all moving in and making the place soft. The Bronx will be the spot. Jersey is a great boxing state but fighters are spread out in the small cities all over. If I had to pick one city I would go with Philly. This city is still tough as nails and will put out good boxers, it has great small venues and is close to NY and AC for big fights. I was at the Mtagwa fight Saturday night at the New Alhambra...GREAT boxing crowd, all the old school Italian, Irish, Hispanic and Black characters that bring you back to the old days. Frazier was sittin front row and I was talkin to Chazz Witherspoon for a bit when I went to get a hot dog.
Im going to the Blue Horizon April 11th and then Cotto/Gomez the 12th. Anyone find out where in NY the Yuri Foreman and Joshua Clottey fights on April 3 are being held? So many fights. Nothing beats being a boxing fan in the tri-state, thats for sure.
Rutgers NB here too. Forget the Eagles and the Giants...GO JETS!
you goin to the cotto gomez/margarito cintron fights in AC?
Naa I'll view from home. Can't escape work.

nah fuck the eagles. but i do love every other philly team. sixers, phils, and flyers. and yea wawas are the shit better than quick check no offense haha. i been up to rutgers a couple times. grease trucks were my shit when i was up there. dude i work with is always goin to clubs up there, sandbar and pasha. hes a pure guido though.
I've never heard of the place you moved to tho, I herd you guys got a joint called Wawa's down there, up here I guess our version is quick check lol. Have you ever been to north jersey? I go to Rutgers New Brunswick so thats why I kinda kno a lil about south jersey iots seems like you guys are all eagles fans
From a fans perspective it is probably NYC/Tri-state area. There are many venues and many fights that happen within a certain radius of NYC. From Atlantic City's Boardwalk Arena, to Foxwoods, to Mohegan Sun to Hammerstein Ballroom to Madison Square Garden... there are a bunch of moderately priced good fights taking place every month. The closeness of the casino's also allows you and friends or girlfriend to make an evening of it or even a whole day affair if you decide to sleep over.
Brooklyn got a lot of talent although you gotta say New York City since BK aint a city its a borough, Los Angeles got a lot of champs too, Philly fighters got heart too
