How many times has this guy sold himself, and his family out for the power of the dollar?
- Floyd once through his own father out of the house that he bought for him, because of a minor disagreement. Whatever the reasons for thier fallout, you have to remember that his father is the one who put gloves on Floyd when Floyd was barely able to walk. His father is the one who laid the foundation for what Floyd has become today. To remove the roof over the head of your own father is a despicable act!
- During the Judah/Floyd fight, Uncle Roger expressed his anger towards Judah for the lowblow and Rabbit punch. Once the melee occured, Floyd stood in the corner, while uncle Roger and took on both Judah and his father. When Floyd was asked why he didnt get involved, his response was "im not gonna fuck up my money". Now some people might say that's smart on Floyd's behalf, but where is the family loyalty?
- Floyd is now selling out the fans who dedicated yrs to watching him move up through the ranks. He's participating in circus stunts like WWE, and a farce of a rematch in Sept with Oscar, instead of living up to his status of pfp#1, and taking on the real challenges. Once again, he is selling out for the power of the dollar.
floyd would sell his children is the price was right. :tapedshut
clearly not true, Floyd has said time and again that one of the reasons he is so focused on making lots of money is so that he can provide a great life for his children unlike his childhood. And they will not have to put their lives or health on the line to make money like he did.

Hahahaha. Everyone knows Floyd Sr. is a conceded asshole who has no respect for anyone but himself. He is self centered, greedy and narcasistic. Floyd has helped out his mother and other family members 10 fold, its his father who does not get along with the rest of the family, not Floyd. In fact, Floyd sr is not invited to attend Mayweather family functions anymore.
Get your facts straight, Floyd kicked his father out of that house because his father doesnt show the respect and appreciation for FLoyd that he should for his boxing skills, and the fact that he even bought his father a house, after all the shit Floyd Sr. has done to Floyd in his life.

Did Roger ask Floyd for help? Nope, he didnt need it. Floyd is smart in the ring, he doesnt let bullshit get in the way of what he is supposed to do in the ring, unlike Zab and Yoel. Roger wanted to make his feelings known, and he did that. If he isnt complaining, you have absolutly no right to be either.

Since Floyd has been p4p champ, he has fought Judah, Baldomir (champ at 147) Oscar and Hatton. No one can even attempt to say those boxers are not formidible competition. Im not in favor of a DLH rematch or him in the WWE, but only the ultimate hater would attempt to say that its not smart or that it doesnt make sense from his perspective. he will probably make 40 million from both events.
Sooo...that just about puts an end to this thread...:lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

I think it's advisable for any son to have an intimidating and belligerent father removed from a property purchased with his money. If Marvin Gaye had done the same, he might be alive now. Extreme example, and not an exact parallel, but you get my point.

I don't recall Floyd's exact words verbatim, but I think they concerned professionalism specifically.
If Judah wants to be fool enough to start swinging like he's in some bar brawl, that's his business, but Mayweather shouldn't be criticized for setting a better example.
This really is scraping the barrel.
He's participating in circus stunts like WWE
This is the only point I can sympathize with. It's embarrassing to see a fighter of Floyd's talent and dedication lowering himself by involvement with the WWE, but what can you do? If he thinks the money and publicity are too good to refuse, on his reputation be it.
Realistically, it should all fade to little more than a tacky footnote in Floyd's career arc years from now.
Floyd Mayweather gets more of this kind of criticism than is warranted.
I do think there is a facet of his personality which betrays signs of arrested development, the ungainly thug affectations etc., a degree of which might be expected of a guy who went from a childhood spent in the gym straight into the bubble of pro-boxing. But there are a lot of good qualities to respect in him, imo, and he can reasonably be expected to mature past the few negative character traits he's exhibited up to now.
Aside from everything else, he's a master of the boxing trade.
Expect him to fight Cotto after De La Hoya, and expect his detractors to just as quickly find another name to prop up the charges of 'ducking' and 'running' if Cotto becomes Mayweather victim #39.
i thought floyd said he doesn't need money.so why is he on wwe?floyd could do whatever he wants it's his life but to alot of boxers and boxing fans floyd is a clown

Point #1 - You don't have a clue about the type of relationship that Floyd has or had with his father, so to speak on it would be pure speculation and just guess work.
Point #2 - You think jumping into a ring swinging punches at the age of 60 at a young fighter in his prime is smart? Floyd Sr. did the right thing, while Roger did the stupid thing and paid the price by being out of boxing for over a year.
Point #3 - Alot of champions from, Jack Johnson, Joe Lewis, Rocky marciano, rocky Graziano, Ali ect ect ect, the list oges on. Have all invloved themsleves in "extra" activities to make money on the side. I don't see a big deal and if someone offers me 20 million ot play make believe.......I will play.
I'm not a big fan of Floyd but in reality he's the best pound4pound fighter in the world. You can hate on him all you want but until someone beats him, it's hard to say he's not the best. HE's not running, just setting himself up for every fight to be a big payday.
Dawgs...
I'm a Cotto fan too, but this has no relevance on how good of a fighter Floyd is and that's what it's about at the end of the day.
What he does outside the ring with his money is his business.
You really diggin deep now homie.

You were not there, you do not know what happened. You can not make that judegment call.

If you were to ask Roger right now, he would tell you, Im happy floyd didnt get involved.. Floyds there to win the fight, NO MATTER WHAT... not risk being disqualified, Floyd did he right thing, and Roger would tell you that.

Who wouldnt go on WWE for a "supposed 20 million", hell even if its 1 million.. why not? and its only a months worth of work?
From November 2006 - December 2007 - 13 months....
Floyd had 3 fights, 1 countdown, 8 episodes of 24/7, and dancing with the stars... if the guy wants to take 9 months off and fight a rematch with someone who gave him a split decision, and who is also the most ACCOMPLISHED active fighter in the sport today... and ALSO be Oscars LAST fight of his career, then I got no problem with it.
THat also doesnt mean I wouldnt rather him fight Cotto instead. But I refuse to flame him for it. ITs his life, hes been doin this since he was 10 years old. He deserves to do what he wants to do.
He WILL fight Cotto too...
Floyd Sr even said in a recent interview, that Floyd Jr is a complete fool for going around and throwing money at strangers, especially when he dont give not a dime to the family.
