But that's the corner's job. They should have been looking out for the best interests of Jeff....
Yeah, there was never a point in the fight where the referee could have felt unequivocally justified in stopping it imo. Jeff's corner were wholly at fault for those 3 or 4 rounds of superfluous beating he took - a less mercenary corner with a modicum of compassion for their man would have acknowledged he had no chance and pulled him out to fight another day. Jeff's bravery should be applauded, but I thought his corner's negligence was diabolical at the time. Calzaghe might not punch with as much power as he used to, but his shots are still plenty heavy enough to inflict significant trauma through a sustained beating like the one he delivered that night.
yea they should have saved lacy... maybe he wouldn't be so affected by it now.

I thought Gatti Ward shouldve been stopped numerous times. Frank Cappuccino is one incompetent SOB. Gatti was getting pummeled numerous times
Griffith-Paret obviously
Mancini-Kim
honestly in round 9 of gatti ward I... gatti literally didnt punch for a whole minute and was just getting battered my mickey, but the ref knew this was normal gatti type shit and let it go on.. but thats a lot of punishment to take... im personally glad they didnt stop it... but it looked iffy.
Whitaker-Hurtado was stopped too late.
Shit, yeah. That uninterrupted hail of shots Hurtado took at the end was sickening - almost like a mini Griffith > Paret, it was that excessive. No excuse for such negligent refereeing.
Not the worst by any means but I always felt Bowe/Golota should have probably been stopped in the second. Bowe had already took more to the head than he should have during his career but this fight was most likely what ruined him for good as he was even said to be weight drained leading up to the fight.
The first knockdown is pretty damn scary but he somehow gets up(despite barely being coherent) only for Golota to use him like a heavy bag. Some shots don't find their mark but several big ones due and it is clear the ropes are the only thing keeping Bowe up. WTF was the ref thinking?

If not than, why not the 5th? Bowe is clearly helpless after the knockdown and never leaves the ropes; eating more huge shots in the process.

Outside of the occassional wild swing and Golota's wierd freak out knockdown in the 4th, the fight was never competitive with Bowe eating huge shot after huge shot to the head; often falling and leaning into the ropes as his legs were clearly gone. I know this is officially a Bowe win but the ref should have never allowed him to absord unanswered punch after unanswered punch(no, blindly swinging and feeling your arms out doesn't count as staying active).
Sorry WTF was you watching?
I see Abrahams outboxing Miranda every round Miranda fouling like it was a Golota Hopkins tag team.
And he lost easy.
He broke his jab but not once did ambrahams say i give up he dominated Miranda who should have been Dq`d by 10.
Was it your blind dog that gave u a review?
Hey Jerky. Watch the stoppage. The ref waved his hands to stop the fight. Randy Neuman asks Arthur if he can contunie and Abraham clearly shakes his head from side to side and says NO!
Get some glasses and a hearing ade and rewatch the fight before you say something stupid. :duh:
Watson spent 30 minutes without oxygen.
The referee had to KEEP Watson up after Watson was knocked down and his cornermen had to help him back to the corner. Watson looked completely gone.
When he got up from his stool, the referee had to help him get to the center of the ring to face Eubank. After that he was pummeled in the corner until the referee stopped it.
man thats jus cruel seriously that is what kills boxing.

Umm, the second one? You know, the one where Watson was permanently paralyzed.
If he hadn't been allowed to go out for the 12th round to take unnecessary punishment, he could've been taken to the hospital a lot earlier than he was.
Exactly. He took that vicous uppercut in round eleven which clearly left him on Queer str. Why his corner let him out to the final round is beyound me. The way I remember it Watson wasn't responding to the corner at all.
Eubank v watson?
Which 1 and why ugly tit.

I remember watching a fight last year between Ricky Quiles and Nate Campbell. Campbell was beating him up so badly that even Teddy Atlas was yelling at the ref to stop the fight. I can't remember how many power shots Quiles took, but it was some crazy amount.
Yea, that was a bad one. No way in hell Ricky was going to win that fight. Why make him keep taking all that punishment!

"Arthur himself said he could no longer fight" :duh:
He still fought and won.
Arthur told the ref he did not want to continue...
You go 12 rounds on a Sauerland card and your he house fighter, there is no way you are going to lose.
pemberton shieka 2... stopped a lil earlier maybe...
also a fight I saw with JAUN DIAz... against some chinese dude...
Dude was just taking rediculous amounts of clean flush shots from juan.
I think that was against Randy Suico. He's Philipino.
Robinson vs Luc Van Dam. The referee had to carry Van Dam back to the corner. Didn't help because Robinson knocked him cold in the next round.
Robinson vs LaMotta. Jake was doing good for the first few rounds...
Then it turned into a prolonged Mayweather vs Gatti with more punching power and a better chin.
LaMotta was not in the fight at all for the last 6-7 rounds.
