how old is he didnt he fight a month ago.
hes 33. and yea he fought a month ago. i read an article a while back that he signed with new management and that hes going to try to make something of his career.
Funny story about what made Augustus want to use capoeira in boxing. His favorite game is Tekken and he used to use the guy whose style was capoeira. After that, he started copying some of his moves in the video game and applying it to his style.
haha using that bitch in tekken who does capoeria is like cheating. its so hard to stop once she gets going it used to piss me off. i like this guy but it looks more like yoshimitzu then the capoeria haha.
he's a very entertaining fighter.. he has skills, and i thought always had great potential.. he took a lot of fights on short notice and didn't have the best promotion or management
watch his fight against Micky Ward. Fight of the year in 2001. No drunkin fighting or anything like that, just a straight war.
And for the record I had Burton (Augustus) winning the fight.
He was sure trying to clown around at all costs though, he did what he could. he's hilarious
he's dope and one of my favorite fighters. only time I remember mayweather bleeding was against Augustus.
They stopped that fight prematurely too. I mean, Augustus was getting beat, but he was holding his own and hitting mayweather with some tough shots too. If it was a known name fighter they wouldn't have stopped it, but they figured it was some bum and supposedly an easy night for mayweather.
That is pretty off. It was competitive but one sided. Augustus was bleeding from his ears and the ref wen't to get him checked and told him to do something or he would have to stop the fight. That being said Floyd was quoted as saying that was his toughest fight. Got to love Manny, that drunken fighting style is the most entertaining thing I have seen in a ring.

Whenever I asked top fighters who would be the last guy in boxing they'd fight, I was surprised how many said Emmanuel Augustus. It was a combination of him being very good, having a frustrating style, and the high risk/low reward factor. He's a cult favorite in the gyms here in South Florida. I hear he had Zab Judah's number in sparring.
It was no small wonder why the top fighters didn't give him a chance. He didn't force any mandatory shots with his record and was robbed more than a few times because of his lack of strong promotional ties. It doesn't help that he takes fights on short notice and sometimes just isn't in shape.
The only times he took beating was at 135, which was too light for him. At 135, he wasn't the same fighter he was at 140. Leonard Dorin and Kid Diamond would've lost to Augustus at 140. My cousin Nelson has been Augustus' trainer on and off for a long time.
yeh hes won titles
IBA World Light Welterweight Title
IBF Inter-Continental Light Welterweight Title
WBO Inter-Continental Light Welterweight Title
WBC Continental Americas Light Welterweight Title
so he wasnt all that bad tbh but his style wierd rofl.
Mayweather dominated the fight but it was such an entertaining fight. My Favorite Mayweather fight. FOTY type stuff if it wasnt so one-sided.
Augusts was probably my favorite fighter of all time at his peak. But now its getting depressing and he should hang it up and lend his skills to younger fighters on the up and up.
Rofl he actually won world titles which is kinda mad because of his style lol. what happened to this guy?
He did not win any world titles, you're misinformed. But here are some of his highlights:
Did they teach him the brazilian Capoeira or somethin'
