All countries seem to favour their own fighters a little, but Germany seems to be the worst place to go, the old cliche 'You'd have to knock them out to get a draw' seems to ring true. Put your self in the position of a champ that is being called out by a German alphabet champ with zero losses...would you risk the chance of being on the receiving end of an 'Ottke'?
I've seen a lot of foreigners get decisions over the house fighter in Germany. Moorer and Botha over Schulz, Hill over Maske, Gonzalez over Michalczewski, etc. The referees there are a problem though. Even when they import American refs they seen to act suspiciously (Abraham-Miranda).
just knock the opponent over there out, and than u will be ok! a decision is tough, and as stated earler just look at the miranda - abraham fight. the guy quit, than he did not quit! no wait...wtf? that was a joke! plus the cards were way off as well. robbery imo!
Ever heard of a Joke, Mr Internet Is Serious Business???
Do you know what this :lol1: little face means???
Lighten up twinky...
Welter your so internet. you make mocking pbf so brainish and funny, hihihihihi. :nonono:
Most German fighters are not really German they move there because either there country is sheet or they are cowards and dont want to fight in Eastern europe.
Germany is the first nordic state in Europe ergo modern.

I would defend my world title all over the world, taking on the countries best fighters like Carlos Monzon in the 70's. Even in Germany
As long as you don't let the fight go to the judges, you'll be alright (even though you'd have to settle for a draw in Germany).
Nah, its a joke down there, bad decisons go on all the time, particulary during the sven ottke era, though oktte's fights were obviously fixed, he was actually a good counter puncher, mind you, didnt dawson go to Germany and beat adamek?
The dawson/Adamek fight wasnt in Germany, But some of the ottke fights were just hilarious...I think the worst one has to be the Reid fight.
He beat salem and knocked out Charles Brewer so he wasnt that shit.
Joe just had his number.
But he was knock out in one round before Calazghe went over there, I seem to remember Frank warren saying if they're stupid enough to pay Joe a million pounds for someone he already knock out in one round then there is no doubt that Joe would knock him out again.
that fight with miranda and abraham was total bullshit that fight was a TKO since round 5 the guy lost 20% of his blood and miranda won that fight 5 points off?? come on now.

Joe Calzaghe traveled to Germany to beat the Mario Viet he also offerd Ottke 50-50 split for a fight in Berlin in 2002 after Hopkins had just pulled his famous double money duck of Calzaghe.
Ottke said no by the way.
Calzaghe went there because he was offered ridiculous amount of money to fight over there even though he had already Knock Mario Veit out in round one in the UK, Even i would go over there if the opponent is that crap..Calzaghe wasnt in any danger by going over there at all.
Yes but I would use David Hasselhoff as my ring entrance music, then the germans would love me.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya ziz guy iz kool, maybe vee should tell ze Judges to change ze final result JA????

Joe would have beaten Ottke to a stoppage, so it doesn't suprise me Ottke chickened out, but generally would you risk it?? I was thinking more of poor old Robin Reid

If you were an American or British World Champion would you risk fighting in Germany? | BoxingScene Community
