Very interesting news to me. Just read an article on this. How does everyone think he'll fair? A mediocre puncher at heavyweight. I wonder if the lighter weight will allow him to be a bigger puncher in the division. Regardless, even at his age he'll be a major player for a year or two if he stays there.

I'm all for it. If he can make 175, I think that he could win a title in less than a year, easy. Hopkins won't fight him and I'm sure Calzaghe, after he beats B-Hop, will just retire, so he could dominate the division (I'm sure he'd wipe Tarver off the map if they fought). I read the story and he did say he's walking around at 180. It sounds a bit low to me, but, then again, I always thought he was too small for HW.

Cris byrd should of fought at 175 in the first place. but his wife probally forced him to gain weight and fight at heavyweight for the bigger money. Cris byrd at 175 would be the best technical guy around. Byrd is a ballsy dude he has an amazing chin for a naturally small guy, so I dont see anyone knocking him out at 175 i mean this guy took the punches of some hard hitters at heavyweight. agreed. should be fun to watch.

They fought in the amateurs after all, although Byrd probably doesn't need reminding.

Can he make 175 at this stage? If he can make the weight, I'd be interested to see what he can do at 175. I expected him to move down to Cruiserweight. He said in the article he's walking around at 180lbs right now and all he had to do to get to that weight was run alot.
