Marco Antonio Rubio and Giovanni Lorenzo leading contenders for Pavlik

Pavlik has had a number of very tough fights in a row & deserves some easier shots. Let him enjoy his championship for a bit with some solid defences. From what I know of them, both the Rubio & Lorenzo fights would be pretty entertaining. As noted, Pavlik a step above, but both guys are legitimate top contenders with good power, who will come to fight. Another I'd like to see in the mix is Randy Griffin, who recently gave Felix Sturm a pretty tough time (Although didn't really deserve the draw). He's got a style that is pretty well tailor made for Pavlik, but is good enough to make it exciting for 6 or so rounds. Improves Pavlik's standing a little more, & be an entertaing regular HBO fight if it had some good supports.

I really wanted to see this fight, people that knew who these guys were they knew it would be a war as long as it lasted, It ended in 1 round? Lasted 7. Pavlik knocked Zertuche him out in 8.

I do remember seeing him drop Kassim Ouma on an undercard. Ouma went on to outbox him the rest of the way. He must have good power because Ouma's got a pretty good chin.

Rubio is a very good fighter who actually stopped Jose Luis Zertuche 1 round quicker then Pavlik did. Rubio would be the more exciting fight IMO, but idk much about lorenzo I really wanted to see this fight, people that knew who these guys were they knew it would be a war as long as it lasted, It ended in 1 round?

It looks like Arum want Kelly to have an easier fight in this next one. Which he deserves. Rubio would be a nice opponent to provide some action. I wouldn't mind seeing Kelly knock the hell out of somebody again. What do you mean by that? Is that a standard that you hold for every champ or just Kelly?

Rubio is an OK fighter with plenty of power. He does have a weekness for the right hand, tho, as Kofi Jantuah could tell you. He's a GBP fighter, tho, and now that Arum and Oscar have kissed and made up, it wouldn't surprise me that this came off. However, I'd love to see Pavlik take on Tito. I think it would be a great fight that wouldn't go the distance. Minor correction here. Arum kills me! He goes on press saying how scared Floyd is to fight Cotto, this and that. He says Floyd only takes fight that he KNOWS he can win. Floyd needs to fight the best (Cotto). BUT, he has the nerves to downplay the Pavlik- Wright fight. He makes these excuses for why he doesn't like the fight and all this. WRIGHT IS THE BEST PERSON FOR PAVLIK TO FIGHT AND PAVLIK WANTS THE FIGHT! However, Bob wants to settle for the likes of Duddy, Rubio, Lorenzo, instead of Winky????? SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE!

Rubio is a pretty good boxer...he has good movement and good boxing skills..he did ko zertuche as did pavlik however Rubio (who i have met and is a pretty cool guy) is not in the same league as pavlik.

Rubio spent the majority of his career at 154, although his victory over Zertuche was quite good and as mentioned, he's open to right hands.

If Winky isn't careful he's gonna have to take a real crap fight soon. He needs to get active.

Bob wants Pavlik back on free HBO for the rest of the year. That means none of these big name fights are going to happen till 09. Which is good b/c Winky hasnt done anything lately to deserve a shot at the undisputed middleweight championship.

If Pavlik fights Tito then it would be on PPV.. Pavlik's not fighting at SMW though
