Cotto will hurt PBF

PBF has seen plenty of styles close to Cotto's but Cotto has not been in with nobody even remotely close to PBF is skills and definitely not ring smarts.All this shit people see as advantages for Cotto and all the things Cotto can do to PBF sounds easy. But its different for every fighter once they get in that ring with PBF. As it has been stated many times before. I agree it is stupid to compare Hatton and Cotto because the both do certain things better than the other. But to compare Cotto's jab to what De la Hoya did with his jab in the PBF is even more stupid. De la Hoya's jab is faster than Cotto's jab and De la Hoya has more reach on jab than Cotto does. Also if PBF could counter De la Hoya off De la Hoya's jab PBF would do the same to Cotto but in a much worse fashion. I being a very big PBF fan want the Cotto fight to happen also I just don't see it being as close as some people think. I see a clear and kind of easy win for PBF. Even though I see the fight that way it still doesn't mean the fight shouldn't happen. This post is SPOT on.... people thinking cotto can beat pbf, is more hopeful than anything.. they WANT floyd to lose, and cotto is the best candidate to make it happen... that sure as hell doesnt mean he can... If anyone has never been in the ring with a certain style... its cotto never being in there with a style like floyds.. Mosley isnt even close as far styles.. all mosley has at this point, is decent hand speed, and a little bit of foot movement

Cotto could definitely hurt Floyd, no question. You guys forget man...the reason everyone wants to see this fight is because Floyd hasn't fought Cotto's style before. People comparing Cotto to Hatton is probably the most absurd shit I've ever heard. Hatton isn't half the boxer Cotto is on an overall scale. Cotto is a trillion times more versatile. Floyd hasn't fought a dude like Cotto who can throw bombs from the inside and land flush. And what about the jab???? Floyd's worst enemy. De La Hoya to his credit stabilized Floyd with the jab until he thought he could go for the kill and take out Mayweather which we all know doesn't work that easy. If Cotto could stick with the jab and get his timing right (which he doesn't get enough credit for) it's going to open up a lot of shots for Cotto. Like i said before, this fight isn't the most demanded fight for no reason. Keep in mind Cotto has that 10 cm punch as well. If he is tied up he could be able to hurt Floyd there with his ability to hit hard from that close. Hey is it just me or is this fight mouth watering.

I would bet points Cotto wouldn't land anymore than 26% of his punches. Floyd would probably fight this bout more cautiously than usual due to Cotto's consistent attack but he won't get hit much. Cotto is a pretty accurate puncher though I think Cotto may get some shots in, I just don't know how clean they will be with Floyd fighting more defensively than offensively.

The wins over Judah and Mosley are eye-popping. But only on paper. Judah completely clammed up and stopped throwing. And Mosley (as he has stated) backed straight out. Mosley was right there to be hit, and I mean right there. Cotto is overrated. He's garbage. Yeah, ok. Isn't that a little off subject?

i think cotto could beat floyd because of floyd's safety-first style....de la hoya almost beat him with the threat of his power alone...cotto can fight all 12 rounds so i could see him getting a close decision based on PBF's low output of punches...but to me Floyd is the anti-cotto and wins if he doesnt fight all homo....

Seen the Hatton fight? If you know boxing you should also add: "PBF will tie Cotto up as he did Hatton so Cotto will tire when he tries to punch on the inside. In the late rounds that could be apparent." Cotto is a lot stronger than Hatton, and unlike Hatton, Cotto pressures behind an excellent jab/more than solid boxing skills. He also focuses on punching when he gets inside, while Hatton employed his "hold and hit" style to no avail on PBF(both due to Floyd's craftiness and Cortez's interference). It's harder to tie up a guy who's throwing at you instead of one coming in with the goal to tie you up himself. Cotto also has faster hands than Hatton. Lastly, Cotto's chin has looked far more solid at Welter than Hatton's. I'm not saying Cotto would necessarily win should the fight be made, but the Hatton fight is not a good barometer to go by in terms of detailing how he would lose.

It's possible that Cotto could hurt Mayweather to the body. But shit like that would ensure that Cotto gets knocked out, and not decisioned. :killyou: Ping ping.

Why do people always consider Floyd a "stick and move" fighter or a "runner". Floyd's defense is based on movement alright, body movement. He is a master of the pocket, he makes you miss. Floyd will stand with you, but you won't be trading blows, rather he'll be landing blows and you will be struggling to do so. As much as I want Cotto to win, I just don't see it. Cotto puts a lot of power in his shots, which means movement from the ankle to the hips to the shoulder. Floyd will read that kind of movement all day.

I think Cotto will eventually hurt PBF to the body. I think Mayweather will eventually win, but I think we will see PBF grimacing before the end of the fight. Seen the Hatton fight? Cotto's main weapon on the inside is his left hook to the body and Mayweather has great defense against that shot so I don't think Cotto can hurt him to the body unless he sneaks a few through Mayweather's guard. I don't see Mayweather getting hurt if they fight but I can see Mayweather getting a little uncomfortable at times.

floyd is stronger than you think. cotto imo would put up a strong showing only to be embasrrassed bye floyd and yes, i could see floyd stopping cotto in the later rounds, he is too crafty for cotto, and has always been.
