of his generation? i mean, everywhere he goes, he gets booed. is that why you all keep making these threads for the "hataz"? do you think that making the "Floyd is the greatest of all time" threads will somehow change opinions? all it seems to be doing is just making people dislike him more. its weird because you all are responding the EXACT same way Floyd does when he is confronted with rejection and criticism, you try to rub shit in people's faced in a childish manner. that aint flashy.
Ruiz was/is more hated If thats you on that myspace page, I'd like to let you know that I think you are one beautiful chick! Just like I like it too, a tall drink of water. LOL If not my bad if thats your girl.

people dictate who's name lives on. its just the way it is.
So, if one is NOT the people's champ, their name doesn't live on? I agree that Mayweather may be the most dislike Champion (i'm not a hugger, a realist). But that doesn't take away from what is done inside those ropes. That is the biggest issue. A lot people say this about him and that about him (which they can), but when it comes down to the TRUE MATTER: BOXING, he is the best at it. Everyone isn't going to be received with arms wide open, but that doesn't mean that their name won't "live on" as you stated in above. The attributes of a champion (not just Floyd, but anyone) speaks for themselves and what they leave on record (inside the ring) is going to count, not how the people may have felt about them...good or bad....
I didn't say that RJJ, Tyson, and Sugar were hated, I said that they talked shit and backed it up like Floyd. Your right Ali was hated by white america, and some parts of black america that was used to a quite and humble champion in Joe Louis. Alot of black people didn't like him cuz he stirred up shit and made it hard for them to live comfortable in a U.S. that was still very racist at the time. In black america Floyd is the people's champ!! NO doubt about it. To me he stands for one of the richest black men on the planet and thats enough inspiration for me!
That is true.
RJJ, Tyson, Sugar Ray, were mostly loved by the public. RJJ even has a large hispanic following. My grandpa who grew up watching Marciano and Louis and Pep loves RJJ. Ali was only hated by white america and not just because he was cocky and loudmouth but because he stood for change and brought to light the hypocrisy of that society. What does Floyd stand for? Remember, its the people who make you the champ, is Floyd the people's champ?

I disagree...to some level i know where your coming from but as far as a legacy it will be the media and his accomplishments that will solidfy your name in the books...people may not like you but if Floyd continues to win, i dont care if everyone in the world hates him he will still be remembered in the future for what he did in this era...people in general may not agree that he was an all time great but when he is discussed within boxing circles it would be foolish and quite frankly stupid to leave him out of any talks of the greatest boxers of his generation.
I disagree when you say that it is the people that make you the champ 2501. They don't do it. The fighter does that! The people are entitled to like whoever they want. But they don't make the champ. What does it mean to be the people's champ? If you can, please explain that comment (Remember, its the people who make you the champ,) in more detail, thanks.
Sheesh, Frank Bruno was the people's champ. Fat load of good it did him in terms of being regarded as a great boxer and legacy.
No because I know that all the haters are jealous of Floyd. Floyd is one of a only a few guys who can talk the talk and walk the walk. He always happy because he worked damn hard to be the p4p best and arguably the best ever. The man is the hardest worker in the sport of boxing and there's no denying that.

I cant speak for anyone but myself...im a floyd fan and i dont make decisions of who im a fan of based on other peoples personal opinions of somebody...i like floyd because of his style in the ring and his swagger of out it...i could care less if people boo or dislike him, that may be a good question to ask him not his fans.

I think most Mayweather fans are bitter because through the fault of his own people do not like Mayweather. He's made poor decisions prior to the DLH bout in chosing opponents, giving lackluster boring fights, and doing just enough to get by. This business is about entertainment. Also he has no personality and is cocky and arrogant.. Mayweather thinks that by flashing his money and his record people will automatically like him.. It hasn't worked.
and to those who say he doesn't care about what people think.. That's what Mayweather longs for most is a audience.. He even said so during the Hatton fight.
Cotto is a robot when it comes to personality.. but he makes up for it in the ring.
That's why people like him... he gives it a 110 percent!

He is the most hated at this point in time but later on down the line he'll be the most revered. People hated Ali and couldn't wait to see him lose, and now he is called the greatest of all time. Some people just don't like the cockiness but too me thats how I like my favorite fighters to be. Roy Jones, Ali, James Toney, Money Mayweather, Tommy Hearns, Mike Tyson, even Sugar Ray Leonard talked a little shit here and there. All these Champions talked shit and could back it up, so if thats why people hate him keep it coming cuz everytime he fights and wins it makes them look like idiots. I know everybody has to lose sometime but we all know that person isn't even in the picture yet. Miguel Cotto is a great fighter and I like his style but he is not ready for Money. Let him clear up this confusion in the welterweight division and there will be more money to make if he's still on top. Everybody said that Paul Williams was his biggest threat and look what happened to him. In my book the most hated champion was definitely John Ruiz basically because of his ugly style of fighting, Money's style is straight brilliance.

Floyd has went on the record as saying that he will give anything to have the support, and fans that Ricky Hatton has. So dont give me that b.s that he dont care about not being liked.
