"I'm getting too old to go 12 rounds. I can only go four. I'm not going to waste any time. I'm going to go in and take him out. I'm not at an age to be tussling for 12 rounds." -- Former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver, who is 39, on his mind-set heading into an April 12 (Showtime) bout against titlist Clinton Woods of England.

Good, then save us the boredom and retire!!!!!!!!! lol. or fight Dawson to get him more popularity
I think Tarver's career revolved around winning the olympic bronze medal, overcoming his drug addiction, turning pro and defeating top competition (Harding, Reggie Johnson, Montell Griffin) right from the start, calling out Roy Jones, becoming the first man to really beat him, winning the undisputed Light Heavyweight championship and starring in a Rocky movie.
I think he has done a bit more than only defeating old Jones. Good but not great, that's how he will be remembered, not as a great like Jones but as a good fighter who was at the very top for a short time.
As arrogant and overrated as Tarver might be, he has something more to be proud of than just the win over Roy Jones.
See, I dont get into in-depth disagreements with you...
Because you know what the hell your talking about, your intelligent, and you make valid points.. even if I disagree with you, I can always still see your side of it.. if only more people could do that... good karma..

If Tarver thinks he can't go 10 rounds anymore.....then why does he think he can beat Hopkins LMAO!!!!!!!!!! YOU AIN'T STOPPING NARD THATS PROVEN TO BE VERY HARD!!!!!!NOBODYS DONE IT.
dawson will kill him thas why hes to scared to fight him
He's not scared to fight him, he knows he will lose, he knows he's shot. You think a prime Tarver would be scared to fight him?
Tarver has also said that he can see the openings but can't take advantage of them, basically admitting he is a shot fighter with no reflexes.
Tarver is a counter puncher who can't see the punches coming clearly and can't wait for those rare opportunities to counter punch for more than 4 rounds before he gasses.
He had a good run, now he should retire and I think Woods will retire him.
I agree... This will be Tarvers last fight... unless he only fights tomato cans after this..
