When I think of ruthless conclusions, I always think of Ray Robinson at middleweight. The way he waxed off Randy Turpin in the rematch and how he ended Jake Lamotta's reign in the St. Valentine's Day Massace, those were classic and finalizing endings put on two very tough guys. Robinson pinned them to the ropes and landed unanswered blows like it was a liquidation sale on pain.
Joe Louis' revenge against Max Schmelling was also punishing. Schmelling was screaming in pain from a kidney punch and seemed to rock back from every punch.
Mike Tyson had some excellent finishes, but I'd say the Pinklon Thomas one was pretty bad. It's hard to really narrow down one guy who stood up to sustained punishment from Tyson, though.
Pacquiao is a highlight reel of finishes. The way he got Morales in the third fight was good, but I like the way he pursued Jorge Julio en route to the stoppage.
Julio Cesar Chavez's finishing flurry against Edwin Rosario was nice. That is the perfect way to finish a guy, head and body.
Aaron Pryor might take the cake with the way he dusted off Arguello in the first fight. It's hard to narrow down a more devastating sustained flurry than the one that happened in the 14th round.
^^^^What the hell was wrong with the referee in the Johansson-Machen fight? I have never seen that clip before. Thanks.
It was bizzare seeing the referee continue to count even while Machen's corner was attending to him. No wonder they outlawed pro boxing in Sweden.

I didn't leave you any karma, but reading this made me curious. Who was this "Johnson" that Tyson supposedly fought?
George Foreman Highlight - Part 1Uploaded by chinoir509
I would nominate all of the finishes shown in this George Foreman highlight.
Foreman vs Frazier I & II
Foreman vs Norton
Foreman vs Lyle
And speaking of Griffith > Paret, the KO defeat of Paret by Gene Fullmer a few months before -- speculated as contributory to Kid's eventual death in the ring -- was pretty brutal. A shaken Paret coming bravely out of the corner after the first knockdown, for which his head and body had taken a heavy battering, taking a body shot and trying to hold on but being sent to the canvas a second and final time by one last staggering left. Seriously unpretty.
Peret vs Griffith. 20+ unanswered punches, referee Ruby Goldstein didn't stop the fight until it was too late, looking at Peret's body slumping to the canvas was hard to watch.
Some great nominations and examples cited in this thread, but that one is difficult to get past for obvious reasons. Griffith > Paret has to be the single most shockingly brutal and unequivocal finish to a professional boxing bout that I've ever seen, on film or in the flesh.

Here are some that instantly come to mind:
Mercer demolishing Morrison
Allan Green putting Codrington through the ropes (brutal finish)
David Tua's relentless punishment of Ruiz after he'd already been KO'd.
Corrales finishing Castillo was pretty decent.

Michael Carvajal fights were incredibly bloody and crazy. But, I have to go with McClellan vs. Jackson in the early 90's.
did ref's let fighters take more punishment back then b4 they stopped a fight or what??? cuz that shit seems wrong
Yes they did until the Benny Paret vs Emile Griffith fight (shown on national television) and most importantly the Ray Mancini vs Duk Koo Kim fight.
After Mancini vs Kim many changes to the rules of Boxing were made but the referee stoppages became more usual after the Paret vs Griffith fight.
Tony Zale vs Rocky Graziano III was brutal.
Graziano looked like he was out the first time he went down but the referee pretty much lifted him back up.
Zale finished the job with a brutal combination of punches that left Graziano out cold on the canvas for minutes.
Robinson knocking Graziano's mouthpiece out was quite brutal too.
Ike Williams destroys Beau Jack
Johansson vs Patterson & Machen were already mentioned.
There is a thread in the Boxing History forum about the most brutal KO's in the history of Boxing.
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160354
Some KO vid's in there.
Johansson vs Eddie Machen, maybe the most brutal IMO.
40 year old Sonny Liston's hopes about getting another title shot are destroyed by Leotis Martin (who unfortunately had to retire after this fight).
Liston went down like he was shot dead and he did die shortly after the win over Chuck Wepner.
wtf is that moronic ref letting it go on in johansson vs eddie machen??
stupid DICKHEAD.
Whitaker-Hurtado
Pernell Whitaker VS Diosbelys Hurtadoby chinoir509
that referee must be the stupidest most incompetent referee of all time!
what an idiot, seeing a fighter take shots like that. and dances around like a monkey
fken idiot
